Britney Spears reportedly wants to start a new family.
But a vital member of her old family may be preventing it from taking place.
Allow us to explain…
According to Radar Online, the beloved pop singer is ready to settle down with long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari.
Not only does Britney want to get married, this report alleges, she actually wants to get impregnanted by the 25-year old fitness trainer, who has been with Spears for many years now.
HOWEVER, Jaime Spears, Britney’s sick father, has other ideas.
An insider says he doesn’t trust Asghari and is putting his very influential foot down when it comes to his daughter’s desires.
“Britney wants to marry Sam and have another baby, but her father says no!” this Radar source claims.
The thing is, this isn’t a typical case of a parent simply disagreeing with his or her child’s choice in partner.
Britney wouldn’t simply yield to her dad because he’s an expressed an opinion.
For starters, Jamie has held conservatorship over his twice-married daughter – and her $200 million fortune – since her infamous 2007 meltdown, which featured Britney shaving her head, getting hospitalized and then getting sent to rehab.
He controls her money, in other words.
This gives him actual power over her career and, to some extent, her personal life; more so than father who do not have such a responsibility at least.
Moreover, Jamie suffered a ruptured colon last year and faces more serious surgery.
Back in January, Spears postponed her tour to deal with this very unfortunate family medical crisis.
“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say,” wrote Britney as a caption to a throwback photo (below) of herself and her parents.
She continued at the time:
"I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart…
"A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him."
Concluded Spears in this emotional message:
I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com.
I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.

Britney and her loved ones have allegedly been preparing for their dad’s death ever since.
As a result, Spears isn’t about to defy her dad’s orders when she may not have very much time remaining with him.
It’s actually unclear whether Spears even could go against her father’s wishes, due to her breakdown over a decade ago and the way in which her dad has been essentially placed in charge of her life ever since.
Nevertheless, it seems unlikely she’ll try to find out.

Spears has been married twice before.
On January 3, 2004, the artist tied the knot her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
She then wed Kevin Federline about 9 months later and split from him in 2007.
The two share custody of 13-year old Sean and 12-year old Jayden.
