Racism can take many forms.
Most of them are unintentional … but can be avoided if people are educated, thoughtful, and compassionate.
When Marlena Wesh posted anti-Asian racist stereotypes in the form of "comedy," she wasn’t trying to attack the Asian community.
She wasn’t truly trying to attack Sarah Hamrick.
But these damaging stereotypes only persist because they are amplified and passed on in the guise of "jokes."
Marlena deleted the TikTok video, but it had already been saved.
She has of course apologized, ans Sarah has reached out both privately and publicly.
Hopefully, this can be a learning experience for The Bachelor fans.
It certainly has been for Marlena.
