Bindi Irwin currently sits in first place on Dancing with the Stars Season 21.
Granted, this isn’t saying much. A very disappointing Dancing with the Stars premiere yielded a top score of 24 points (for Bindi and also for Nick Carter).
But still. Irwin showed up some impressive moves while performing for the first time with Derek Hough.
They did the Jive to, naturally, Elton John’s "Crocodile Rock," with Bindi giving her late father a shout-out prior to hitting the floor.
"Mom always says that any time dad would watch me dance around the zoo he would cry,” she said on camera prior to her routine.
“I think the real reason I am doing this is to make him proud and everyone back at home in Australia proud. I think that everyone back home in Australia is going to see a whole new side of Bindi."
Bruno Tonioli went on to refer to Irwin as “the wonder from down under,” while Carrie Ann Inaba gushed: "You are a superstar!"
