With The Hunger Games set to wrap up its four-part masterpiece via Mockingjay – Part 2, it’s time to pay tribute to … well… the Tributes who have comprised this beloved movie franchise.
But also the clothing designers… and politicians… and residents of District 12 who we’ve grown to know and love over the years.
We’ve ranked our favorite Hunger Games characters below, from worst to best. Keep in mind, though, that this is all relative:

Rue
We’d rank Rue a lot higher, but let’s be honest: she was barely in half of one movie. Her impact, however, helped spur a revolution.
Cinna
Also loses some points for getting killed. It’s not fair, we know. But we’ll never forget the first person who helped Katniss truly believe she would be the winner and the leader that she ended up becoming.
President Alma Coin
She’s too vital to the final two parts of the story not to receive a mention. Perfectly portrayed by Julianne Moore.
Finnick Odair
There was more than met the eye with this handsome Tribute. Tough, calm, cool and collected on the outside, Finnick eventually revealed the softie inside.
Johanna Mason
Smart, tough, loyal and creative: She won her Hunger Games by pretending to be weak and cowardly, only to prove herself as a vicious killer when it mattered most.
Peeta Mellark
No list can be complete without Peeta. But he doesn’t earn a higher spot simply because he isn’t the most captivating character in The Hunger Games. He’s important, but not hugely entertaining on his own.
Gale Hawthorne
We guess the secret is out, huh? Due to his loyalty and bravery, we’re on Team Gale all the way.
Primrose Everdeen
Talk about a character who has come a very long way. Prim has gone from Katniss’ scared, innocent little sister to someone willing to stand up and fight for what is right.
Haymitch Abernathy
We’ll drink to you, Haymitch Abernathy! Katniss and Peeta’s mentor has proven to be adept as imbibing, imparting words of wisdom and being generally awesome.
Caesar Flickerman
Sorry, Ryan Seacrest. You have been replaced as our favorite television personality. Maybe if you went to a few more extremes with your hair…
President Coriolanus Snow
A surprising number-two choice to many, we assume. But a hero is only as heroic as the villain against whom he or she is going up. And Coriolanus Snow drips with calm venom in every single scene.
Katniss Everdeen
We mean… d’uh! Sometimes the obvious choice is an obvious choice for a reason. May the odds be ever in your favor, Katniss. You may lead our revolution any time.
