The Duggar family is constantly celebrating a new engagement and then, a short time after, a new wedding and marriage.
And then children. The endless, endless stream of Duggar children.
Part of that is ideology — the Duggars are diehard fundamentalists who believe in strictly controlling their children, even as adults.
That means strict chastity and closely monitored courtships, which help motivate their kids to walk down the aisle without pausing to ask themselves what they want out of life.
But this endless series of back-to-back weddings help to keep the Duggars relevant — or close enough.
Let’s take a look at how many of these Duggar kids have already been married off. Who’s next?
First we have to start with … him
Josh Duggar proposed to Anna on her birthday in 2008. They apparently followed all of the courtship rules, not even kissing until their wedding date.

Jill and Derick got engaged back in April of 2014.

Next up are Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald
Jessa and Ben (seen here AFTER their marriage — what do you take her for, some sort of scarlet woman?) got engaged on August 4 of 2014. though they had been courting for longer than Jill and Derick.

Honorable Mention; Josiah and Marjorie
No, they’re not married. But Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson were seriously courting (well, as seriously as you can in Duggarland). In April of 2015 when the courtship was announced, Josiah was only 17. Their chaste romance was snuffed out, fans believe, by Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal. If not for that, we might be talking about Marjorie Duggar and her children.
Next on the roster is Jing and Jer
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo began courting on June 21, 2016 — a mere day after the summer solstice. By July 26, they were already engaged.

Jinger and Jeremy were engaged all of a few months before getting married on November 5 of 2016. Notably, Jinger and Jeremy escaped Arkansas. Married Duggars are allowed to live where their lord husbands live, after all.
Joy-Anna and Austin
Austin Forsyth and Joy-Anna Duggar are a controversial pair because many fans believed — and still believe — that their pregnancy timeline doesn’t add up. These two were crazy about each other, and got engaged on March 6 of 2017.

Joy-Anna and Austin got married on May 26 of 2017 — just two months and two weeks after getting engaged. Given how quickly Joy-Anna turned up pregnant, many fans suspected that she’d broken her family’s strict courtship rules.

Joe Duggar proposed to Kendra Caldwell at Joy-Anna’s wedding. We’re sure that he had permission from his family, but that is just … so incredibly rude. There’s an internet saying that if you get proposed at a person’s wedding, they should repay you by giving birth at your wedding and then dying at your funeral.

So, after that May 26 engagement, Joseph and Kendra got married on September 8.
Josiah’s courtship, take two
Josiah Duggar’s second attempt at finding love went much better. His courtship with Lauren Swanson was announced on January 23, 2018.

And yes, Josiah and Lauren got married on June 30. So if you blinked, you missed their entire premartial relationship.
And now there’s John David and Abbie
John David Duggar and Abbie Burnett are courting. The announcement came on June 26, 2018, just days before Josiah and Lauren walked down the aisle. Abbie, at least, seems a little more normal than what many expect from the Duggars.
Who will be next?
Jim Bob and Michelle control the course of their children’s lives — even their adult children — and intend for all of them to be married.
Jason Duggar JUST turned 18
Given that he’s now an adult, his parents seem likely to try to marry him off before he starts to get crazy ideas like independence and personal choices.
