Another season of Teen Mom 2 is upon us, which means MTV has blessed us with yet another extremely long trailer.
This one brings us up to speed on most of the girls and what they’ve been up to since last season.
Of course, the way the Moms document every moment of their lives on social media, there aren’t too many surprises in the preview, but it’s nice to see certain key developments confirmed.
For example, Leah Messer is back with Jason Jordan — and Jenelle Evans seems to have had her role on the show greatly diminished.
She warned us that MTV had drastically reduced her role on the show, and now it seems she was telling the truth for once.
But hey, at least she’s featured more heavily than Kailyn Lowry and Briana DeJesus, who don’t appear in the trailer at all!
Check it out:
Jenelle vs. Babs
Jenelle isn’t entirely absent from the trailer, mind you. She discusses her custody battle with Nathan and has a sit-down with Babs.
Too Much of a Bad Thing
It’s not that Jenelle has less screen time than her co-stars, it’s that their portions feature montages and cameos from multiple members of their inner circles …
Not So Much …
Jenelle’s, on the other hand, features an extended sit-down with her mother, Barbara Evans.
Not That There’s Anything Wrong With That …
Hell, Babs is far more well-liked than Jenelle at this point. It’s just that the awkwardly-long scene –shot on a freakin’ park bench — serves as a reminder of how limited Evans’ role will be this season.
The Real Drama
What fans really want to see is the drama of Jenelle’s home life, but MTV is no longer able to film her husband or even to set foot on her property.
Sounds Interesting
As a result, you can expect a lot more of Jenelle and Babs in public parks.
We’re Sick Of It Already
And a lot more of Jenelle crying about what a misunderstood stand-up guy David is. Take a look:
The Extended Trailer
As Chelsea Houska’s father pointed out, this freakin’ thing is nearly as long as an actual episode. Fortunately, it’s got a lot more going on than just Jenelle.
The DeBoers

First up are Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer, who are blissfully happy, as always.
Winning
Chelsea and Cole just bought a house together, and as always, their giddy glee might be annoying if they weren’t so damn likable.
The Bores
As much as we love them, Chelsea and Cole don’t bring a lot of drama to the table. Fortunately, we have the rest of the cast for that.
Scary Times
Sadly, Leah’s daughter Ali is still struggling with health problems.
A Painful Struggle
In a voice-over, Leah states that Ali’s breathing is getting worse, making her increasingly reliant on a respirator.
Silver Lining
Fortunately, it’s not all doom and gloom in Leah’s life, as her relationship with Jason Jordan seems to be really taking off.
Leah In Love
Leah gushes about Jason to a friend, informing her that Jordan has “a steady job” and, like her, has been twice divorced. Hey, whatever floats your boat.
Good For Her
That may not sound like the most ringing endorsement, and Leah and Jason have already broken up once, but for now, they seem happy.
Happy Leah
After all her ups and downs, and amidst the ongoing struggles in her life, it’s nice to see Leah with a smile on her face.
Fingers Crossed
Now here’s hoping things work out with Jason. Teen Mom boyfriends don’t have the greatest track records. Teen Mom 2 Season 9 premieres on MTV January 14.
