The producers of Teen Mom 2 were presented with a strange quandary this season.
Basically, they were in desperate need of a storyline for Jenelle Evans.
This was a new problem, as the Carolina Hurricane has always been one of the biggest drama magnets on reality TV.
But ever since Jenelle’s husband, David Eason, got fired from the show, producers have struggled with the task of giving Evans something to do on screen.
Enter Andrew Lewis, Jenelle’s long-forgotten first baby daddy who’s been reintroduced to the show’s audience this season.
Unfortunately, the response from viewers has mostly been along the lines of “send him back where he came from.”
Take a look:
How Do You Solve a Problem Like Jenelle?

Ever since the axing of David Eason, Jenelle has desperately needed someone to butt heads with, as well as a sounding board for all her batsh-t ideas.
The Babs Factor
For a while, Barbara Evans filled that role, but fans quickly tired of watching the mother and daughter pretend to have a relationship.
Two Solutions
So producers went ahead and solved this problem in two very interesting ways …
The Babs Show
For one, they started giving Babs most of the screentime that had previously gone to Jenelle (who was barely in this week’s episode).
Absentee Douche
The second solution was to reintroduce Jenelle’s first baby daddy, Andrew Lewis, who hasn’t appeared on camera in over 7 years.
Reunion Ruckus
That meeting didn’t go so well, as Andrew unconvincingly claimed that he wants back into Jace’s life.
She’s Got a Point
At that time, Jenelle informed the audience that “Andrew is a piece of sh-t,” and for once, we’re inclined to agree with her.
Babs on a Mission
Regardless, Babs made the trip to New York in search of a father for her grandson and a storyline for her daughter.
Supporting Character
Babs remained on the phone with her daughter throughout her visit to the Big Apple, presumably so that viewers wouldn’t forget that Jenelle exists.
No-Show
Unfortunately, Andrew was nowhere near Manhattan and informed Babs by phone that he was in Florida visiting his sick father.
Angry Babs
Barbara wasn’t pleased by this development, but she was able to attain answers to some of her biggest questions over the phone.
No ADHD
For starters, both Andrew and his mother assured Babs that there’s no ADHD on their side of the family.
Drunk No More?
On top of that, Andrew’s mother assured Babs that Andrew is no longer an alcoholic.
Not Buying It
Jenelle, of course, remains unconvinced on that score.
Glass Half Full
Yes, when Babs called Jenelle to report the good news, the younger Evans went full Debbie Downer.
Take That, Babs!
“ThereâÂÂs no way to communicate with him because heâÂÂs never sober,” Jenelle argued.
Two Peas In a Pod
We guess it’s sort of a “takes one to know one” situation, but at the same time, Jenelle hasn’t seen Andrew in 7 years … so how would she know if he’s still boozing?
Jace In the Middle
Of course, the most important thing to bear in mind here is that Jenelle really doesn’t get much say in this situation.
Babs Makes the Call
He may be Jenelle’s son, but Babs has had primary custody for most of Jace’s life … which means she’ll be the one to decide if he gets to meet Andrew or not!
