We all know that the stars and producers who deliver the reality TV we love sometimes a get a bit … creative in crafting storylines and conflicts that might not be 100 percent true to life.
But while we’re okay with a little embellishment here and there, there’s a level of fakery that most fans aren’t willing to accept.
And former Teen Mom OG star Mackenzie Standifer is making some outrageous claims these days about just how staged and scripted the beloved MTV series really is.
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Mackenzie went on an anti-Teen Mom tirade this week.
And if her claims are accurate, they might seriously affect the way fans view the show going forward …
The Standifer Saga
Mackenzie’s time on the show was relatively brief. She was never a “full-time” cast member, but appeared in numerous episodes due to her tumultuous marriage to Ryan Edwards.
Dark Times

Standifer frequently came into conflict with fans during her time on the show, beginning when she failed to prevent Ryan from driving while intoxicated on their wedding day.
Downhill

Things only got worse from there, and eventually, Mackenzie deleted her social media accounts due to criticism from TMOG fans.
Rock Bottom
Mackenzie and Ryan’s time on the show was marked by many low points, but public opinion really turned against the couple following Edwards’ latest arrests.
Kicked to the Curb
Ryan and Mackenzie were eventually fired from the show, seemingly because producers didn’t want the liability that would come with continuing to film (and pay) a multiple felon who seemed to be in the throes of a serious addiction.
Mackenzie Goes Off
Standifer has often been outspoken in her feelings toward MTV, but this week, she really went off on her former employees in her most bitter tirade to date …
Standifer Stands Up
âÂÂTeen Mom OG is a lame, fake, boring and scripted TV show that uses peopleâÂÂs life issues as a way to gather money and ratings,â Standifer wrote on Instagram.
Standifer on the Stand
Naturally, it wasn’t long before fans asked Mackenzie why she stayed with the show for so long if it was all so fabricated.
Pleading Ignorance
âÂÂAt the time I went into things blindly and unknowingly and I am very sad at the outcome,” Standifer claimed.
Lesson Learned?
âÂÂIt was a learning curve,â Mackenzie told another fan who questioned her continued involvement with the show.
Tough Crowd
As you might expect, Mackenzie’s explanations didn’t go over well, and the consensus seems to be that she’s merely bitter over losing a cushy and seriously lucrative gig.
Kail Sounds Off
Among the most vocal critics of Mackenzie’s comments was Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry, who made her feelings quite clear on Twitter.
Not Mincing Words
As you can see, Kail made it quite clear that she doesn’t completely buy Mackenzie’s version of events.
She Knows What She’s Talking About
Kail might appear on a different show, but the entire Teen Mom franchise shares common producers — and a common ethos — so we’re inclined to believe she knows whereof she speaks.
Backing Down?
Mackenzie took such flak over her original anti-TMOG comments that she eventually deleted the offending caption.
A Long History of Shade

As we said, this is far from the first time that Mackenzie has savaged the show that made her famous.
Photographic Proof?
Last month, Mackenzie posted this photo to Snapchat. She claims it’s proof of MTV staging a scene at her in-laws’ house.
No One’s Buying It
For obvious reasons, the blurry pic didn’t go over terribly well on social media, but it seems Mackenzie will continue trying to make her case.
Sit Down … Be Humble

Fans have encouraged Standifer to be happy for the money she made during her time on the show and stop trying to ruin a good gig for her former colleagues. Something tells us she won’t be doing that.
