So Maci Bookout is definitely one of the best, if not THE best, mom in the Teen Mom franchise, right?
She’s always been a loving, caring mother to Bentley, and she really stepped up when his father, Ryan Edwards, wasn’t so involved.
And now that she’s got two more children with her husband, Taylor McKinney, the love just keeps growing.
Unlike some of the other moms, she’s never really had any scandals, aside from some viewers wondering if she may have a problem with alcohol.
So it was a little surprising to see her be so reckless on Monday night’s season premiere.
In case you missed it, there was one scene in which she was driving with her kids in the car. Bentley was trying to ask her something about Maverick, and she told him that she couldn’t look back there because she was driving.
Which would imply that she couldn’t look because she was looking at the road, right?
Except she wasn’t looking at the road, she was looking at her phone.
And literally no one is having it.
Oh, Maci, No
Maci is good. We like Maci. Everyone likes Maci. She does a good job. But even good people do bad things …
Shame, Shame
And Maci texting while driving around with her precious children in the car? It was very bad. And Twitter was quick to tell her all about it.
Why Though?
Here’s a shot of Maci looking at her phone as she tells Bentley that she can’t look at him because she’s driving. And yes, it IS horrifying to look at this footage and then think about that time she wrecked her jeep.

Teen Mom fans even took to Maci’s Instagram account to discuss the issue — one person wrote “Wow maci your texting while driving with your kids but yet your scared that Ryan has Bentley in a car while using drugs and basically your doing the same put your kids in danger.”

Another told her “Stop texting looking down at your phone and driving with all your kids in tow, it’s just as dangerous as nodding out at the wheel, just saying…”
A Sad Story
One person defended all the people criticizing Maci on her social media accounts because, as she wrote, “My brother in law was killed by a distracted driver last Christmas. If no one calls her out on her poor behaviour on the show then how can we expect change?”
