Kailyn Lowry … she’s been through some stuff, to say the least.
Especially during her time on MTV.
Like, she kicked off her reality show career as a pregnant teenager living with her boyfriend and his family with no real family support of her own.
It’s understandable that she’s sometimes not handled her hardships in the best way, you know?
And that’s why we’re getting a brand new Teen Mom 2 special called Kailyn’s Biggest Blow-Ups, to review all of her biggest outbursts, and to see Kailyn review them at the same time.
But in an exclusive interview, she reveals her issue with the special, and honestly, we wouldn’t blame her for having a blow-up over this, too.
Rude!

OK, so tonight, MTV is airing a little special called Kailyn’s Biggest Blow-Ups.
The Memories!

The average Teen Mom 2 viewer could come up with a few on their own, right?
Such a Special Special!

But the magic is in the fact that in addition to seeing a compilation of those scenes, we’ll also see Kailyn herself reacting to them and explaining them from her point of view.
Yes, Please!
It should be pretty fun — Teen Mom drama always is, right?
The Promo
To get an idea of what the special will be like, you can check out the promo here.
Thanks, Girl!
You can see Kailyn giving tons of background information about the scenes featured, her classic “Hold my foot, Jo!” moment while giving birth to Isaac, and some other quick little clips of some of these blow-ups.
Hmmm …

The host, Nessa, asks her a question about cheating on someone (it’s not mentioned who, that’s why you have to watch the actual episode) and she says that she was the guy’s first girlfriend, so we assume she’s talking about Jordan, her boyfriend from the first season of Teen Mom 2, the one she cheated on with Jo.
Who Did This?!
She also says that someone else tried to cash her inheritance check from her grandfather behind her back — we can’t find any information about when her grandfather passed away, so who knows who she’s talking about here.
We Need to Know!
Her last comment about being embarrassed and asking to turn the cameras off is way too general to even speculate about what scene could have inspired it — cruel, MTV.
Ouch
Here’s an actual sneak peek from the episode — here, Kailyn watches the scene when Jo told her he was dating Vee, and she feels her feelings about the fact that they’d never get back together. It’s actually pretty tough to watch.
So Many Feeeeeelings

It should be pretty clear that this special is going to be a little emotional.
Hold Up

But as Kailyn tells us in an exclusive interview, there were even more emotions going on behind the scenes during the filming of the special.
Uh …

And that’s because she didn’t know until the filming began that MTV was going to do her like this.
Shady!
“I was told it was going to be called KailâÂÂs biggest moments,â she explains.
Fair
She adds that “I understand that there is a show to be made so there needs to be drama to some extent, but I thought they would have also included some big positive moments for me.âÂÂ
Makes Sense

It’s easy to see why she thought that — in the promo for the special, Nessa does say that she wanted to review Kailyn’s “biggest moments,” and that would definitely include some high points, like the births of her children or her college graduation.
Super Weird
It’s extra believable because how weird would it be for your employer to call you up and be like “hey, we’re going to show everyone videos of your worst moments and you’re going to sit there and watch them too, cool?”
Wow

She says that she didn’t even find out about the actual theme of the special until she showed up to the studio to film it.
A Natural Reaction

“When I got there and found out it was going to be called KailâÂÂs Biggest Blow Ups or whatever itâÂÂs called I was upset,” she recalls.
Awkward

“I felt like I agreed to something based on false pretenses. But I was already there. I made the best of it. Owned my mistakes and kept it moving.âÂÂ
A Team Player
âÂÂI would not have agreed to this special if I knew what it was,â she continues. âÂÂI didnâÂÂt agree to the first one they came to me about. The only reason I stayed was because production was already in order. I was already there.âÂÂ
Come On, Really?

She also says “I was never given a date for when my special would air. They never called me to give me a heads up or anything.”
No Loyalty
Kailyn is one of the most popular Teen Moms, either because people love her or they love to hate her, so if the network is going to benefit from her with this special and they tricked her into filming it, the least they could have done was let her know when it would be airing.
Taking Accountability
She does admit that “There are certain things that I have done… and people on shows have done that canâÂÂt look any other way than what it is.”
Good Move
It’s nice that she’s able to say that, right? Especially when so many of her fellow Teen Mom stars feel so comfortable blaming every single mistake they make on editing.
Dude
Jenelle has done this plenty of times — for example, in past seasons, when David Eason was shown being the creep he’s proven himself to be, she’d say that he’s just a shy, private person and doesn’t like talking about his life on TV.
Yikes
Oh, and that infamous Teen Mom OG scene when Tyler called out Catelynn for her eating habits and told her he “don’t want no heiffer for a wife”? He later said that MTV had planned to make him “the POS baby daddy this season” and that things were taken out of context, even though he clearly said some terrible things, no matter what the context was.
A Fine Line
But while lots of cast members have complained lots of times about the editing to cover up their own questionable behavior, obviously the show is going to be edited for maximum drama, so things may get a little twisted from time to time.
But Still …
As Kail explains it, “Sometimes I feel like editing does make things look a different way than they are.”
Confused?
It’s a little tricky to try and figure out what’s been edited and what cast members claim has been edited to make themselves look better.
Can’t Wait!
But we should get a good exercise in figuring out the difference tonight — thanks, Kail!
