Something happened in the past few years in the Teen Mom universe. Something no one could’ve seen coming at the onset.
Somehow Kailyn Lowry has turn into one of the most controversial cast members, if not the most controversial entirely.
It’s been pretty wild to watch, honestly.
Teen Mom also features a cast of characters like Jenelle Evans, Farrah Abraham, Bristol Palin and Amber Portwood.
You get the point. Why hate on Kail?!
We couldn’t tell you, but people do, for whatever reason. Maybe just because she’s so outspoken, strong and successful?
In any case, the 26-year-old Boss Mom of Three is brushing it right off her shoulders. ‘Cause you know who doesn’t hate her?

A Roller Coaster of Emotions
So Kailyn with Chris Lopez … yeah, that’s been a wild ride.
In the Beginning …
They met at college, and after her marriage to Javi Marroquin fell apart, they started hooking up.
Well Then
And then she got pregnant.
Not Great
If you’ve kept up with your Teen Mom 2 viewing, then you know that that wasn’t the best time for either of them.
Wonder Why?
One of the reasons for this was because, according to what Kailyn said on the show, Chris had another girlfriend around this time.
Why Though?
He also refused to accompany her to doctor’s appointments, something that really hurt her.
Aww, No
One of the saddest moments happened when she went on a vacation while very pregnant. She had a bit of a health scare that landed her in the hospital, and while everything turned out to be OK, he didn’t even answer her phone calls or texts.
Getting Along?
Thankfully Chris got on board with the idea of raising a child with Kailyn by the time she went into labor, and he showed up to the hospital when their son was born.
Yay!
Things between them were good for a while — a very short while.

But then it all fell apart.

In her new book, A Letter of Love, Kailyn wrote “I’ve had my bedroom window broken while the baby was asleep with me in the room. My back door had been broken while all of my kids were at home, and I’ve had sh-t about me told to my children.”

“I don’t care if the baby is six weeks or six years old,” she added, “a dad should not talk down about the mother of his child.”
Instagram Dad
There have also been several times that Kailyn’s called Chris an Instagram parent, meaning that he only pretends to be an active father on social media.
Too Much
They’ve even had to go to court to work out a custody agreement — that’s how much Kailyn believed that she should be the one to raise precious little Lux.
A Real Nightmare
Things were so bad between them for so long, but then, seemingly out of nowhere, they started to get along again.
Hooray!
They planned Lux’s first birthday party together, and judging by this adorable photo, they had a good time.
Hold Up
Kailyn even admitted that she feels like Chris was her first true love, and that if it was up to her, he’d be the father of her fourth child.
Hmmm …
There’s been some rumors that they’re even back together, although nothing’s been confirmed.
Being Friends!
But you know what HAS been confirmed? That the friendship is real!

Kailyn shared this cute picture on Instagram of Chris helping her pack up some copies of her book, and we all know that most people wouln’t help you pack stuff unless they really like you.

Chris has also been helping her in a different way — by promoting the book!

“Grab a copy of A Letter of Love if you haven’t,” he tweeted, “I tried to act like I didn’t want to read it…but I did lol.”
How Sweet!
“And even though it’s things about me I may not agree with, overall proud of her!” he added. Because, as he pointed out, “I don’t know many people that have 4 published books lol.”
Impressive
It’s so great that he’s so proud of her for publishing another book, especially since this one has some not-so-flattering descriptions of him and his behavior.

They really have come so far, and we hope they can keep it up!
Extra Cuteness
And hey, while we’re talking about how far Kailyn has come in her relationship with the father of her child, can we also take a moment to appreciate how wonderful her relationship with Jo Rivera is these days?
Parenting Done Right
She took their son Isaac to his wedding to Vee Torres last month, and it looked like they had a beautiful time.
Growing Up
Which is pretty impressive, considering that Kailyn once filed a protective order against him and he used to tell her things like “you should be in a cave.”
And Then There Was Javi
As for how things are going between her and Javi … well, it’s not looking so hot right now. But that’s not really her fault.
Real Talk
After all, Javi pretty much said that he was juggling Briana DeJesus, Lauren Comeau, and Kailyn all at the same time. And what’s she supposed to do with that?

So right now, things are going amazingly well for her with both Chris and Jo, and Javi is currently not a fan of hers, but we all know he’ll come back around eventually. Way to go, girl!
