“You’ve had three hairstyles. What’s next for your career?”
‘Tis true, the Biebs is arguably as famous for his luscious locks as he is his music.
But so many more haircuts (and colors) have happened since 2013. Let’s turn back the clock and reminisce about the multifarious, mystical coiffures of Justin Bieber.
2009: The debut ‘do
This was the hair that started it all. At 16 years old, the Biebs rocked this iconic style that would soon inspire the website “Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber.”
It was so effortlessly chic
It was as if a summer monsoon crept up from behind and propelled his tresses into a state of perpetual forward-sweep.
We saw a slight change in the fall of 2011
Justin rocked the same wind-blown mane for a good two years, but it slowly started to evolve, and for the first time, his ears appeared.
And then, without warning… BAM!
WE HAVE FOREHEAD. The year was 2012, and millions of teenage girls were thrown into a state of utter confusion.
It was just so PERKY!
Clearly, the hair no longer wanted to take things lying down and decided to stand up for itself. With the aid of copious hair spray.
Then in 2013, he stumped us all.
Wuuuut? Was he bringing back the OG hair? What are you doing to us, Justin??
But as it turned out, he was just toying with us
In a concert in 2013, Justin’s meticulously coiffed locks gave his head the perfectly rounded, upside-down egg shape.
Even in his mug shot, Justin’s hair remained on point
The Biebs was arrested in January 2014 for driving under the influence and drag racing in Miami, but his hair was like, “I’m good!”
March 2014 was a time for experimentation
Like most girls who don’t know what to do on a bad hair day, Justin threw on a headband and called it a day.
Later that year, there was an attempt at a mustache
Sadly, it became evident that our Biebie Boy would never make it as a hipster.
2015 marked a very important hair year.
First, he made the oh-so bold move of bleaching his tresses platinum.
Come March, he’d made this unfortunate choice
For his Comedy Central roast, the Biebs showed up with this helmet-with-sideburns thingamabob and made another failed go at facial hair. BUT, he was back to golden blond highlights.
Luckily, it grew out
And the hair was now worthy of a ’90s era Teen Beat magazine.
In August, we sensed something was afoot in the hair department
We’re not going to sugar-coat it. It wasn’t good.
And then in September… WHOA NELLY!
Justin goes full-blown Flock of Seagulls with this white-hot, party-in-the-front, WTF-in-the-back ‘do.
In 2016, Justin introduced us to his man bun
It’s teeny tiny, but its presence speaks volumes.
And then he threw some shade – of lavender
