Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have been married for months.
The famous couple exchanged vows in a court room last fall and may one day hold a more elaborate and more religious ceremony.
For the most part, the singer and the model have been content to stay out of the spotlight and enjoy their life as husband and wife…
… UNTIL NOW!
The stars just sat down with Vogue for their first-ever joint interview, in which they touched on such personal subjects as God, sex and how God has blessed their sex life.
It’s true!

Let’s Get Right to It
Let’s talk about sex, shall we? Because Bieber and Baldwin sure did in this candid interview.
Bieber Was Celibate When He Got Back Together with Baldwin
He had taken a break from sex, which he refers to here as a “vice,” explaining further: “I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth. Women do that, and guys do that.”
Justin Had Been Having A LOT of Sex
But he took a hiatus because “I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul,” he tells Vogue. “And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.”
What Did Justin Think When He Saw Baldwin Last Year?
The pair briefly dated and then split and then: “When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life,” the artist tells Vogue. “I was like, ‘Holy cow, this is what IâÂÂve been looking for.”
And What Did Baldwin Think of Bieber?
âÂÂI was never a superfan, of him or of anyone,â Baldwin told the publication. âÂÂIt was never that crazed, screaming thing. I didnâÂÂt think about it in any kind of way except for the fact that he was cute. Everybody had a crush on him. But for the first few years we had a weird age gap.âÂÂ
Years Later, They Reconnected And…
… âÂÂone day Justin walked into Hillsong [church] and was like, âÂÂHey, you got older.â I was like, âÂÂYeah, whatâÂÂs up?â Over time he became my best guy friend. I was running around with him as his homie, but we werenâÂÂt hanging out [romantically].”
They Dated Three Years Ago. Why Did They Split Then?
“Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through,â Baldwin says. âÂÂFizzled would not be the right word – it was more like a very dramatic excommunication. There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out.”
They Have One Major Thing in Common
âÂÂThe common denominator, I promise you, is always church,” Baldwin continues, expounding on why things worked out after they reconciled in July 2018. “By then we were past the drama. I just gave him a hug. By the end of the conference, he was like, âÂÂWeâÂÂre not going to be friends.â I was like, âÂÂWeâÂÂre not?’â Weeks later the two were engaged.
Baldwin Was Cyber-Bullied for Marrying Bieber
But she stayed strong because she was sure of her decision, saying here: âÂÂI prayed to feel peace about the decision, and thatâÂÂs where I landed. I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time.âÂÂ
What Sort of Issues Do They Have?
Says Bieber: âÂÂSheâÂÂs trying to be this grown-up. I think we can be married and still have fun and enjoy our adolescence. ThatâÂÂs something weâÂÂre talking about.”
Marriage is a Huge Deal. They Know This.
âÂÂItâÂÂs just that IâÂÂm fighting to do this the right way, to build a healthy relationship,â Baldwin says. âÂÂI want people to know that. WeâÂÂre coming from a really genuine place. But weâÂÂre two young people who are learning as we go. IâÂÂm not going to sit here and lie and say itâÂÂs all a magical fantasy.”
Their Romance is Not a FairyTale
Baldwin has a very mature point here when she goes into detail about being wife and husband: “ItâÂÂs always going to be hard. ItâÂÂs a choice. You donâÂÂt feel it every single day. You donâÂÂt wake up every day saying, âÂÂIâÂÂm absolutely so in love and you are perfect.â ThatâÂÂs not what being married is. But thereâÂÂs something beautiful about it anyway â about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone. WeâÂÂre really young, and thatâÂÂs a scary aspect. WeâÂÂre going to change a lot. But weâÂÂre committed to growing together and supporting each other in those changes. ThatâÂÂs how I look at it. At the end of the day, too, heâÂÂs my best friend. I never get sick of him.âÂÂ
Bieber is a Little More Succinct
âÂÂAnd youâÂÂre my baby boo,” he said after Hailey was done making this great point.
How Are They Different?

“I have to really dive deep and struggle to be in touch with my emotions. He gets there immediately,” Baldwin says.
Does Bieber Agree?
“I’m the emotionally unstable one,” he says. “Hailey’s very logical and structured, which I need. I’ve always wanted security – with my dad being gone sometimes when I was a kid, with being on the road. With the lifestyle I live, everything is so uncertain. I need one thing that’s certain.”
Bieber Got Very Personal

To wit: âÂÂI found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed.âÂÂ
Things Got Very Bad for Justin, He Admits:
âÂÂDrugs put a screen between me and what I was doing. It got pretty dark. I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing.âÂÂ
