Well, it’s the holidays — a time when families join together and set aside their differences.
Of course, that togetherness is only possible in families that are dysfucntional at the usual levels.
For families like the Easons, Christmas is a time to throw some shade on social media and prepare for a new year full of acrimonious legal battles.
As you’re probably aware, Jenelle Evans has filed for divorce from David Eason and moved to a new state for safety’s sake.
She also has a restraining order against Eason, but it seems that’s not enough to keep Jenelle’s dangerous ex from menacing her thoughts.

Jenelle Evans is experiencing some major anxiety these days. We suppose that’s only natural, considering she knows the notoriously violent and unstable David Eason has it in for her.
Keeping Mum
In the months since she announced the split, Evans has been less active than usual on social media. But she still offers fans the occasional update.

For example, Evans turned 28 last week, and she marked the occasion of her birthday by posting a pair of photos of herself on social media.
Feeling Herself
“Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself and love yourself to become a new person,†Jenelle captioned the pic, attributing the quotes to My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.
A Long Hiatus
It was Evans’ first Instagram post since she announced her divorce back in October.
Back At It
Fortunately for her fans, Evans didn’t take nearly as long a break after posting her birthday pics — and her newest post is rather illuminating.
Story to Tell
Taking to her Instagram stories, Jenelle posted a “joke” that might have very serious undertones.
Emotional Roller Coaster
“I was soooo tired … until anxiety hit me,” Evans wrote. She added the “crying with tears” and “shrugging” emojis.
Hard Times
Clearly, the emojis are meant to convey that Jenelle is joking, but it’s safe to assume there’s a considerable amount of anxiety in her life these days.
Just a Little Stressful
After all, it’s been less than two weeks since she fled to a different state in order to protect her kids from her maniac husband.
A Brave Face
On Twitter and Instagram, Jenelle has mostly given fans the impression that all is well. Of course, we know that can’t really be the case.

“I just want to tell everyone, I am sooooo happy with life right now,” Evans tweeted on December 16.
To Clarify:
Don’t get us wrong, we’re sure that in many ways, Jenelle’s life is much, much better without David — but it’s also more complicated.
Making It Work
For starters, she’s once again a single mom, supporting two kids entirely on her own in a new city. (Jenelle’s eldest son, Jace, is still being raised by her mother, Barbara Evans.)
No Income Coming In
The situation is further complicated by the fact that Jenelle is doing this with no visible means of support, having been fired from Teen Mom 2 back in May.
The War to Come
On top of that, Evans will soon square off in court against her soon-to-be-ex-husband in what’s sure to be a very ugly divorce.
Officially Broke
The former couple may not have much in the way of assets these days, but there’s still an awful lot at stake,
Caught In the Middle
David and Jenelle will almost certainly lock horns over custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley.
Interstate Battle
It might seem that any judge would side against abusive, unemployed David, but Jenelle is also trying to permanently relocate to Nashville, several hundred miles away from where David lives in North Carolina.
He’s Got Options
David almost certainly won’t get custody, but he might be able to force Jenelle to move back to NC.
The Villain
On top of all that, Jenelle lives with the constant fear that David will track her down and exact some sort of revenge.
The Absolute Worst
Given his long history of violent and abusive behavior, any fears that David might show up at her door unannounced are not unwarranted.
RIP, Nugget
Let’s not forget, this is the same guy who shot and killed Jenelle’s dog in a fit of rage just a few months ago.

Visions of 2020
Jenelle has made a LOT of mistakes over the years, but she’s heading into the New Year knowing she’ll soon be forced to face her abuser in court, and that’s a fate we wouldn’t wish on anyone.
