Jenelle Evans’ time at MTV may soon be coming to an end.
Jenelle’s been a controversial figure from the very beginning of her time in the spotlight, but in recent months, the Carolina Hurricane has hit rock bottom in previously unimaginable ways.
While there may have been a time when the constant drama was regarded as a source of amusement by Teen Mom 2 fans, no one is laughing these days.
And tens of thousands of fans are now circulating a petition urging the show’s producers to take action before someone gets seriously injured — or worse.
Take a look:
The Carolina Hurricane
Jenelle has always been an agent of chaos, but these days, there’s more evidence than ever that her reckless behavior is creating an unsafe environment for her children.
Beyond Rock Bottom

The situation has gotten so bad that many fans are convinced this is nothing less than a matter of life and death.
Taking Action

Now, more than 20,000 Teen Mom 2 viewers have sent a message to MTV that by continuing to employ Jenelle Evans, the network is condoning child abuse and endangerment.

Dangerous Dave
Much of the concern among fans, of course, has to do with Jenelle’s husband, David Eason.
Weird Flex
David recently boasted that the Department of Child and Family Sevices had been called to the Easons’ home more than 20 times in the span of a single year.
House of Horrors
Of course, fans don’t need to imagine what goes on behind closed doors in the Eason household.
A History of Violence
Jenelle and David have racked up numerous assault arrests between the two of them, and he’s been caught on camera verbally abusing his stepchildren.
A New Low
Just last month, Evans was rushed to a hospital to be treated for injuries after she was allegedly assaulted by an intoxicated Eason.
The Stuff of Nightmares
For many, the release of this 911 call — in which a tearful Jenelle claims that David broke her collarbone — highlighted how severe the situation has become.
A Shocking Turn
Unfortunately, these days, Jenelle is defending David’s abusive tendencies and dismissing his assault as a “drunk and dramatic misunderstanding.”
Shifting Focus
And so, activists are doing what they can by trying to secure a safer environment for Jenelle’s kids.
An Intervention
And many believe the first step in that process is stripping Jenelle and David of the income and notoriety that enables their negligent, abusive behavior.
The Facts
It’s clear that as long as Jenelle and David are being rewarded for their behavior by MTV, no meaningful change can take place, and thus, the network will remain complicit in the perpetuation of an abusive environment.
Mildly Stated
“Ever since Jenelle Evans first appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, the reality star has had her share of trouble,” the petition begins.
An Inconvenient Truth
“With a long history of arrests, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse, it’s clear the young mom and her kids need help more than a reality TV show,” it continues.
Lest We Forget
“Especially after Jenelle’s latest controversy,” the author writes.
A Terrifying Ordeal

From there, the petition details the now-infamous road rage incident, during which Jenelle pulled a gun and pursued another driver, all with her 11-year-old son in the passenger seat.
A Cause For Shame
“MTV should be ashamed,” the petition states bluntly. “Child endangerment is not entertainment. MTV needs to drop Jenelle Evans now in order to protect Jace from further trauma.”
Not Mincing Words
“The Teen Mom franchise is already exploitive of its participants, but sitting back as a young mother spirals out and endangers her child and then selling it as entertainment is despicable,” the author adds.
An Important Point
“There’s no guarantee Jenelle will change her ways after Teen Mom 2 finishes airing, but it’s clear that the reality show isn’t helping her, her children, or viewers,” the petition reads.
A Final Plea

“Jenelle has said she would leave the show but that she’s locked into a contract,” the author points out.
What’s Right
“MTV, do the right thing for her kids, and drop her from Teen Mom 2 now,” the petition concludes.
No Guarantees
There’s no guarantee that the network will fire Jenelle if the petition reaches its goal of 25,000 signatures. And there’s certainly no guarantee that Evans will change her ways if she gets fired.
The Time to Act
But right now, both viewers and executives are in a position to take action to ensure the current situation is resolved in the safest way possible. And if the unthinkable should happen, no one would want to live with the knowledge that they failed to do everything in their power to prevent it.
