Jenelle Evans Speaks Out on Teen Mom 2 Firing: Is She Really Broke and Depressed?

As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Jenelle Evans has been fired from Teen Mom 2.

Getting unexpectedly axed from any job can be a very painful experience (although Jenelle really should have seen this move coming).

But when it’s the only job you’ve ever held as an adult, and it’s the gig that made you rich and famous — well, that can be downright traumatic.

Of course, most people would agree that Jenelle doesn’t deserve any sympathy — and believe it or not, it seems the newly-unemployed mother of three holds that view herself.

Jenelle has never been the show’s most conscientious mom, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that there are now rumors that she’s broke and desperate to line up a new TV gig.

“She is broke,” a source tells Radar Online, adding the reality star “depends on that quarterly check from MTV.”

The source claims that Jenelle is currently in New York City and will do anything to line up another reality TV gig.

But Jenelle says she’s doing just fine financially. She also claims rumors that she’s devastated by MTV’s decision have been greatly exaggerated.

“I was a little bit shocked but I saw it coming,” Evans told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “It’s shocking still but I respect their decision and have nothing but love for MTV.”

As for the reports that Jenelle began “hysterically crying” when she heard the news, Evans says they’re simply not true.

“I was upset, I’m still upset, but this is a new chapter for me and my family,” she said. “I will continue to try what’s best for me and my family.”

Jenelle, of course, was fired for allowing her husband to shoot and kill her dog, an 11-pound Frenchie named Nugget.

Immediately after the shooting, Jenelle seemed to be on the verge of leaving David.

“I want to focus on what’s best for me and my kids,” she said at the time. “[Divorce is] in thoughts, but nothing is finalized. … I’m too hurt and upset at the fact he did that. It’s taking time to get over this whole situation, and it’s making me feel he’s very cruel and doesn’t have a heart on many ends.”

Less than a week later, however, she assures fans that all is well in her marriage.

“David has been here for me since the news broke, he told me to not worry about it and to stay positive,” Jenelle told Us Weekly today.

“I’m keeping busy and staying focused on my kids and my animals and my business endeavors which have been planned for months,” she said when asked about how she’s coping. “I’m working to fix my marriage as well and moving forward.”

There have been rumors that Jenelle and David are headed to WeTV’s Marriage Boot Camp, but Jenelle will neither confirm or deny those reports.

“Don’t believe everything you read,” she said, regarding her future projects. “Just know this isn’t the last of Jenelle Evans! I respect my fans and the network and respect their decision.”

Asked if she’ll continue to watch Teen Mom 2, Jenelle remarked, “I won’t be a dedicated viewer, but I’ll watch it if it’s on. I support Briana and the other moms and wish the show and them the best success.”

Asked how her mother is reacting to the news that she ALSO won’t be on TV anymore, Jenelle said, “My mom’s upset. We spoke today. This is a new chapter for both of us! I plan to keep the relationship with my mom close and watch Jace grow into the young man he’s becoming.”
