It’s been almost a month since Jenelle Evans lost custody of her kids.
In that time, she doesn’t seem to have made much progress with regard to winning them back, but that doesn’t mean she’s accepting of the current situation.
In fact, it seems the mere thought that her kids might be thriving under someone else’s care is enough to drive Evans up a wall these days.
We suppose that’s not terribly surprising, as Jenelle’s principal concern is herself at all times.
Still, it’s a little strange to see her boasting about her happiness on social media, while at the same time begrudging her kids the health and stability they’ve been denied for so long.
Here’s a breakdown of the latest news on Jenelle’s breakdown:
Better Days
Jenelle has been posting pics to remind her followers of a time when she still had custody of her kids. But it seems all that pretend happiness might just be deepening her agony.
Hard Times
While she and David have been putting on their bravest faces, it appears they’ve both been struggling mightily behind the scenes.
Is She Even Angrier Than Usual?
It doesn’t help that two of Jenelle’s kids have been placed with Barbara Evans and Nathan Griffith, respectively — people that Jenelle basically considers her enemies.

And one source tells Hollywood Life that the situation has left Jenelle at the end of her wits.

“It’s been an empty feeling for Jenelle to see how happy her kids are now that they are living with Barbara [Evans] and Nathan [Griffith],†says the insider.

But in what could be a sign of increased maturity, Jenelle has come to admit that the situation could be worse.

“On one hand, Jenelle’s glad they seem like they’re doing well and not staying with strangers while she fights for custody, but she misses them terribly and feels unsettled about them not being home with her,” says the source.

The insider adds that life on The Land hasn’t been the same these past few weeks, saying, “It feels like an empty home without her kids.”
King Kai
It seems that of particular concern to Jenelle is the life her son Kaiser is living with Nathan and his fiancee.

Kaiser has been spending a LOT of time with Ashley Lanhardt, who has reportedly embraced the full-time stepmom role with aplomb.
A Natural Fit
“She truly cares about not only him, but she cares about Kaiser and she cares about his other daughter. She truly wants what’s best for all of them,” says Nathan’s longtime friend Katlyn McCormick. “She wants to make sure that all of his kids are taken care of and that she’s taken care of,â€Â
A New Kai
Adding to Jenelle’s misery are the reports that Kaiser is thriving under Ashley’s care.
Encouraging Update
“I FaceTime with Kaiser often and he’s in such a good place. His demeanor as a little boy has changed so much since being with Nathan,” McCormick says.
No More Fear
“Kaiser is so happy and he even told me he isn’t scared anymore,” she adds. “[Nathan has] really been able to take Kaiser out of his shell and change everything that he went through.â€Â
Finally Motivated?
Believe it or not, Jenelle still has some supporters out there, and they’re hoping that losing her kids will be the motivation she needs to get her life in order.

“I think that the pain is a great motivator for people, so losing her children hopefully will motivate her,†says Couples Therapy counselor Dr. Jenn Mann. “If that doesn’t, I don’t know what [will].â€Â

Of course, the best thing that Jenelle could do in order to regain custody would be to leave David Eason, and she clearly has no intention of doing so.

And those who think pain and suffering will prove to be the motivators Jenelle needs might be disappointed to learn that she’s already getting over the loss of her kids.

Evans recently posted (and quickly deleted) photos of herself and David living it up in D.C. just one day after a judge ruled against them in their custody hearing.
