As you’ve likely heard by now, Jenelle Evans and David Eason have lost custody of their children following an alarming incident in which David shot and killed the family dog.
More accurately, the couple lost custody of three of the five children they have between them.
The other two had long ago been placed with more suitable caretakers.
So now, Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, has custody of two of her children, and she appears to be caring for them without complaint.
But Jenelle is hellbent on ensuring her kids wind up in foster care so she’s taken to publicly denigrating Babs and reporting her to the police.
Take a look:
The Dueling Evanses
Jenelle and Barbara have never been close, but over the course of the past year, they both dedicated themselves to working on their relationship.
Back to Square One

And for a while, it seemed to be working. But that’s no longer the case.
Quiet on the Land
Jenelle and David have lost custody of ALL of their children, and Babs is currently caring for 9-year-old Jace and 2-year-old Ensley.
Making It Work

Babs is in her sixties, but she’s been caring for Ensley ever since CPS removed the toddler from Jenelle and David’s care.
Never Good Enough
But despite her best efforts, Barbara just can’t seem to win when it comes to Jenelle, and the former Teen Mom 2 star has been making her disapproval very clear in recent weeks.
Courthouse Clash

The first sign of trouble came when Jenelle went off on Babs in the courthouse parking lot following a custody hearing.
It Never Ends
From there, the situation deteriorated, and as is so often the case with Jenelle’s conflicts, it wasn’t long before the cops got involved.
Calling In the Law
First, Jenelle called the police and asked that they perform a welfare check on Ensley, who was at Barbara’s house at the time.
David Jumps In
Shortly thereafter, David called 911 and alleged that Babs had locked Ensley in a closet.
The Strategy
Many fans accused Jenelle of putting her grudge with her mother above the welfare of her children, as if the kids are removed from Barbara’s home, they’ll likely be placed in foster care.
Speaking Out
These days, Jenelle’s income derives mainly from posting “sponsored content” to her social media pages, and she recently shared a link to an Us Weekly interview in which she explains why she called the cops on Babs.
Jenelle’s Version
“David and I were on FaceTime with Jace when we heard my mom say to Ensley, âÂÂCome here, I have to take a shower,â” Jenelle explained. “Then she took Ensley in the other room, and we immediately heard her screaming and crying.âÂÂ
Ensley In Danger?
âÂÂWe asked Jace what was going on, and he said my mom locked Ensley in the bedroom so she can take a shower,â Evans told the tabloid.
Terrifying Ordeal
âÂÂWe told Jace to get the door open, and when he couldnâÂÂt get the door open, we called 911 for help because all we could hear was Ensley screaming,” she added.
David’s Account
âÂÂMy mother-in-law has locked my 2-year-old child in the bedroom so that she could take a shower, and now she canâÂÂt get the door open, and my child is freaking out,â Eason told the 911 dispatcher during his call. âÂÂSheâÂÂs been screaming on the phone for the past five to 10 minutes.âÂÂ
Screaming and Yelling
âÂÂMy mother right now is taking care of my two children,â Jenelle told the dispatcher during her own 911 call. âÂÂAnd she just called me, and IâÂÂm just trying to call and check on my kids, and I hear a lot of screaming and yelling in the background.âÂÂ
Great Minds
So it sounds like Jenelle and David called 911 at the same time in response to the same issue. Seems a bit excessive, no?
The Colin Factor
In addition to flipping out over the shower incident, Jenelle has been ranting and raving about her brother Colin, who also lives with Babs.
Cheap Shot
Jenelle says Colin’s mental issues make a danger to her kids, but she has yet to provide specifics.
Revenge Plot
Basically, it sounds like Jenelle wants the kids removed from Barbara’s care, and she’s not really concerned with where they end up. The whole thing is misguided and petty, and if she thinks this routine is helping her standing with the judge, she’s dead wrong.
