The veteran Teen Mom 2 star recently took a very clear step away from one painful relationship and toward his current romance — which has produced for him both a child and a very happy existence.

Marroquin has been with Lauren Comeau for about a year now. The two are parents to a precious baby boy named Eli.
Before Lauren, Though?
There was Briana. The military veteran, who initially dated Comeau from July 2017 to September 2017, then dated DeJesus from October 2017 to January 2018.
How Did This Relationship End?
Not terribly. not at first at least. It sort of just fizzled out, with no hard feelings between the exes after they first broke up.
But Then?
It came out that Javi slept with ex-wife Kailyn Lowry while he was with Briana, which resulted in some ugly back and forth.
And That Wasn’t All
Briana has also implied that Marroquin cheated on her with Lauren — and the timeline of her pregnancy and the end of Javi’s relationship with Briana do make a decent case for the accuracy of this accusation.
Where Has That Left Javi and Briana?
On non-speaking terms, that’s for sure. But they’ve each moved on and rarely speak about the other.

Because Marroquin just brought Briana up now. Allow us to explain…
Javi and Briana Thought They’d Be Together for Life
They actually got matching tattoos, despite having only been an item for a couple months, in late 2017. Javi got a king and Briana got a queen as a symbol of their relationship.
They Even Went a Step Further…
The then-twosome even have matching placement of their tattoos, on the side of their rib cages.

And now? “Checkmate,†the Teen Mom 2 star on Instagram of the new ink he just got to replace his former king chess piece on his ribcage “Happy anniversary babe @lauren3elizabeth,†he added. “Kids, don’t get tattoos.â€Â

“Lauren wanted one thing for our anniversary,†Javi then said in a video, panning the camera around to his old artwork.
Wait, is Lauren Jelaous of Briana?!?
No. “There is no jealousy of Briana on Lauren’s part,” Javi has explained to In Touch Weekly. “I simply did this out of respect for our relationship.”
Things Sound Pretty Serious with Comeau
They really are, Javi added to In Touch: “My relationship with Lauren has grown over the past year and I do see myself spending the rest of my life with her, so out of respect, I wanted to cut all ties of my past and wanted to cover the tattoo.”
Wow? Marriage?!?

Of course you do. This is how Javi ended up on Teen Mom 2. The marriage ended after about four years, but it did result in a beautiful son named Lincoln.

A little bit, at least. Asked for his thoughts on DeJesus these days, Marroquin says: “I haven’t even thought about her. I’m happy I got out of that and am where I am now. Through my journey I got Lauren and I got Eli. I’ve never been happier.â€Â

Javi says he did NOT cheat with Lauren, telling the aforementioned tabloid: “I saw Lauren for the first time in March. While the timeline is close, there is no overlapping. A lot of people are ignorant and don’t know your pregnancy clock begins on the day of your last period, not the day you take a test.”

“I don’t care about Briana and wish her the best, but I simply don’t care what people think about this anymore,†he added. “It’s time for me to close that chapter completely — and I have.â€Â

“Javi is never the topic of discussion and nobody cares about him anymore,” said the mother of two in late February. “He needs to stay in the past!”

“I don’t know and I don’t care,†Javi told In Touch. (Briana has told Instagram followers: “I love my tattoo. I won’t cover it up, but I will add more to it.”)
What Does Lauren Have to Say About All This?
She is solely focused on her future with Javi, writing this on Instagram in honor of their anniversary: “Our love story; it wasn’t traditional and it wasn’t always easy but it’s ours and every day it gets sweeter. I am thankful for you and this life we are building together. With you is exactly where I want to be. One year down my love.”
