Earlier today, nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards were confirmed.
The announcement led to a lot of hooting and a good deal of hollering on the Internet… along with the usual outrage over who or what got snubbed.
So, who or what got snubbed by the Grammys this year?!?
In one website’s opinion…
David Bowie’s Blackstar
Not Album of the Year nod?!? Yes, it’s up for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package, but this was the final record of an all-time legend.
Sia’s This Is Acting
Same question: no Album of the Year nod?!? Singles from this record were EVERYwhere in 2016.
Lukas Graham for Best New Artist?

How can his song “7 Years” score seven nominations… and yet Graham wasn’t considered in this category?
Alessia Cara for Best New Artist?

Another contender… or so we thought. We love her single “Here” and critics loved the album “Know-It-All.”
Poor Drake… Sort Of

Drake earned an Album of the Year nomination, so we don’t feel sorry for him. But we think “One Dance” should have been up for Record/Song of the Year.
You CAN Stop This Feeling, We Guess

Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is up for Best Song Written for Visual Media. But not Record/Song of the Year? Good luck getting it out of your head!
Sorry.. Oh, NOT Sorry

Bieber did garner four nominations, including Album of the Year for Purpose, But we expected to see “Sorry” recognized far more.
No Love for Shawn Mendes

Grammy voters may want to avoid all teenage girls after leaving Mendes out of the Best New Artist category.
Radiohead for Album of the Year?
Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool is not up for Album of the Year, despite critical acclaim for the band’s first album in five years.
The Unfortunate Life of Pablo
Yes, Kanye West is nominated 8 times. But zero are in the four major categories. We’re guessing he’ll have something to say about that.
