Teen Mom OG firebrand Farrah Abraham has yet another impressive professional accomplishment to add to her burgeoning LinkedIn page:
The esteemed title of Ambassador for Sexual Positivity, courtesy of a prestigious organization that knows a thing or two about such things.
Everyone’s favorite reality star, frozen yogurt queen, part-time cam girl and general business mogul is happy to accept this honor, too.
You see, Farrah has been in the trenches of the sex trade long enough to know its pleasures – and its perils, professional and personal.
After being fired from Teen Mom OG (we think), and accusing MTV of hate crimes (that really happened), she’s not gonna take it anymore.
Here’s how she earned this honor – and what she has to say about being a role model for strong sexual energy (seriously, this is a thing) …
Farrah the Ambassador
Farrah Abraham was just granted a prestigious sexual ambassadorship. No greater honor can be bestowed upon a woman of her pedigree. But what the heck does that mean, you’re asking?
Putting the MV in MVP
It was announced that the (former?) MTV star has been named an MV Ambassador for adult video site ManyVids, where she will be promoting a platform of sexual positivity.
Turning a Negative Into a Positive
This is perhaps Farrah Abraham’s greatest skill as a businesswoman (no offense to her froyo franchises or other endeavors). In response to what she describes as bullying and sex shaming by MTV, which she says “fake fired†her over her sex industry dealings, she’s doubled down and changed the conversation with this esteemed new ambassadorship.
Much Love From ManyVids
“ManyVids is inspired by Farrah’s passionate dedication to making sure sex workers are treated with the respect and admiration they deserve,” the company, which describes itself as “the leading online destination for premium, original adult content,” said in a statement.
A Friend of Sex Workers
“The motivation behind everything we do is to empower sex workers to become independently successful by giving them the platform to be themselves,” ManyVids continued. “With that in mind, we couldn’t be happier to announce that Farrah Abraham has signed on to become the next MV Ambassador! We’re so thrilled to join forces with such an accomplished public figure who is using her star power to fight back against sex shaming.” You can’t make this stuff up.
Empowering Women and Promoting Hot, Consexual Sex
That is Farrah’s mission. “I believe now more than ever that it is the right time to be an MV Ambassador for Sexual Positivity,†Abraham said as part of the announcement. “I feel passionate about empowering men and women to have a healthy consensual sex life. I want to advocate to end sexual harassment.â€Â
A Thanksgiving Treat From the OG
Farrah, who will celebrate this award presented to her by ManyVids with an MV Takeover on November, 22, 2017 from 10 pm to 12 am ET, just in time for Thanksgiving, says she was recently “sex shamed and sexually harassed while filming the next season of a reality TV series (to be released Nov 27th).”
An International Star, Degraded and Shamed
“As an original cast member of an international franchise, I believe now more than ever that it is the right time to be an MV Ambassador for Sexual Positivity,” she adds. “After being degraded and sex shamed, I feel that my experience as a keynote speaker for unplanned pregnancies and safe sex is my segue into this type of ambassadorship.”
Her Credentials
“My credentials as a business mogul include celebrity licensing for novelty toys, intimates in celebrity award winning categories and beyond. It’s a powerful position to express my freedom (as others do in private) in a public forum so others won’t be sexually shamed, sexually berated, sexually harassed or have hate crimes instigated against them for practicing their legal sexual freedoms,” she said … really insisting on calling what MTV did to her “hate crimes.”
She’s Gonna Hit Back Harder … with Positivity
“To dismiss illegal behaviors of this sort which affects a person’s health, well-being and career opportunities is unfathomable,” Farrah says, however, “I want to use my celebrity to further the cause of sexual positivity and not stand back and watch others be discriminated against and mistreated in this way.”
Seriously, These Were Hate Crimes
“I feel passionate about empowering men and women to have a healthy consensual sex life. I want to advocate to end sexual harassment, hate crimes, and intimidation through falsified press,” she says. “The hateful acts and illegal misconduct needs to end immediately. A healthy consensual sex life is not taboo!”
As Her Own Employer …
“I only hope to help sustain a safe, healthy positive environment in society (which is lacking), on a public level for myself and others in entertainment (adult or not) and all other industries/companies. As an employer myself, I do not allow any sexual harassment or mistreatment of any sort as that is illegal,” she says.
A Hard-Working Voice For the Oppressed
“I’m a hard-working professional mother and my successes and work ethic speak for themselves rather than including my sexuality,” she adds. “My advocacy for social justice is appreciated by men & women who are or have been sexually harassed, degraded, sexually ashamed, sexually abused, sex trafficked, captured by sex cults, date raped, assaulted and/or otherwise violated daily.”
Hate Crimes Are the Worst … and Now This Plug
“I would rather influence sexual positivity with my MV Ambassadorship,” she concludes, “than give in and succumb to the discrimination, intimidation, and hate crimes of an unhealthy sexual society that seems to be our everyday reality. Today I’m here to change that! As I further my advocacy and ambassadorship for sex positivity I plan on including my experience in my first business book to be released in 2018.”
The Aftermath
All of this stems from the biggest news out of the world of Teen Mom this fall, which didn’t involve anything on the show: Farrah was unexpectedly fired last month as a result of recent “side projects.â€Â
Overshadowing Everything Else
In a lengthy Instagram rant posted alongside a trailer for the new season of Teen Mom: OG, Farrah says she was let go because her sex work and other projects began to overshadow the reality show that made her famous in the first place.
Viacom Exploited Me!
“Even though #Viacom fired me today they couldn’t help but to exploit myself & my daughter for their promotional gain … Viacom let me go because as a Business Mogul I act like an adult and part take in adult promotions and activities that other adults do for FREE or in private!†Abraham wrote, not long after her live sex shows on the adult streaming site Cam Soda became huge sensations in recent weeks.
Hate Away
Farrah also alleged that she was fired for her work as an advocate of contraceptive freedom and a sex-positive lifestyle, writing, “I’m proud of myself not giving in to be sex shamed by Viacom network, Proud to not have a network take away financial opportunities for my goals, proud to be an Advocate for a healthy sex life, safe sex, teen pregnancy prevention and so much more while I run companies in different feilds [sic] and scale them.”
In All Seriousness …
The issue of sexual positivity is real, and important, as there are men and women who perform sexual acts on camera for money, supported by the free market, and do so perfectly legally. First and foremost, they should be protected from physical, emotional and legal abuse. Secondarily, but also importantly, they should not have to suffer the stigma of working in an environment they feel is empowering, not degrading.
