If you watched Monday night’s Teen Mom 2 reunion special, then you’re well aware that it was a night to remember for Kailyn Lowry.
Just not in a good way. At all.
Kailyn nearly fought with Briana DeJesus, physically, on two separate occasions, leaving onlookers concerned for their safety.
The incidents were so severe, even by recent Teen Mom standards, that others on set later revealed that they felt unsafe too.
It was enough to bring to mind the violent antics of former cast member David Eason, who was fired from the show last year.
Now, the husband of Jenelle Evans is coming after Kail in a big way and demanding that MTV fire the beloved fan favorite.
Why? We’ll let him explain.
Oh, but at the same time as Eason attacks Lowry and the network, someone else is hurling some shocking allegations his way.
Suffice it to say, this is rapidly escalating into a scary situation that could have major repercussions for everyone involved …
The Gruesome Twosome
David Eason, who has a history of controversy and violence, has already been fired from Teen Mom 2. Jenelle might be the next to go after she brandished a weapon in the presence of crew members. But that hasn’t stopped them from speaking out against their co-stars’ behavior.
The Absolute Worst
David, as we said, was fired for hurling bigoted slurs at fans of the show on social media. But, as those who watch and follow the franchise no, Eason also gave producers and executives plenty of other reasons to give him the boot prior to that.
Reunion Rager
At the last Teen Mom 2 reunion show he attended, David got drunk, pulled out a knife, and began slashing decorative balloons at a cast party, much to the chagrin of his co-stars, some of whom had their kids in attendance. Takes a lot to shock this crowd, given some of the hard lives they’ve led, but he pulled it off.
A Strange Obsession
Six months later, David is still stewing about being canned, and the alleged hypocrisy displayed by the network in giving him the pink slip. We suppose, then, that it should come as no surprise that he had much to say about Kail’s behavior on Monday night’s show.
Chopping Up Kail
“So Kailyn Lowry is allowed to openly promote violence on set?” Eason wrote on Facebook on August 8, referring to her recent tussle with Briana DeJesus, who joined the cast last season and quickly became an archrival of Lowry.
Going Off
“Then MTV promotes the violence by airing every second that Kailyn screamed that she wanted to hit Brianna so many times!” David added, following this week’s explosive reunion show. “Wow, it’s okay to physically and verbally attack each other on the set with MTV!!!”
The Moment in Question
In case you missed it, here’s the fight between Kailyn and Briana that had social media buzzing … and left poor, sensitive, innocent David clutching his pearls and collapsing on his fainting couch.
Where to Begin?
Obviously, the show thrives on some degree of drama, but nevertheless, David’s argument is absurd even by his standards. It seems almost impossible that he might really think that scene is somehow “promoting violence.” Then again, this man’s idiocy should not be underestimated.
The Future
David’s comments come at an interesting time, as his wife’s future with MTV hangs in the balance. Jenelle Evans’ own employment is hanging by a thread for myriad reasons.
The Babs Factor
To make a long story short, she’s a liability, and Eason is a big reason for that, even if he’s personally been blackballed by the network at this point. Making things worse for the Easons is the fact that Jenelle’s mom, Barbara Evans, recently leveled some shocking allegations at David.
A Shocking Claim
In a preview for the second part of this season’s Teen Mom 2 reunion show, Barbara was asked by Dr. Drew Pinsky if she believes Jenelle is safe with David. Yes, Dr. Drew went there, and Barbara has never been one to mince words.
A Frightening Accusation
“No, I don’t feel Jenelle is OK. David is going to hurt her,” she bluntly states, implying that Eason will beat her daughter if he hasn’t done so already. (This has been an allegation that has surfaced from time to time, but the couple always denies it.) As always, Jenelle was quick with a reply in this case.
The Good Doctor
Discussing the matter with Jenelle personally, Dr. Drew gave her a chance to tell her side of the story. He had this to say: “You have your mom’s household, where you have concerns about what your mom says about you and David, how she treats Jace.†Well? What was her reponse?
Angry as Ever
“Everything she does, she does it to try to get back at me,” Jenelle says in an effort to dismiss her mother’s allegations as the rantings of a vindictive crazy person.
Quiet For Once
Remarkably, David has yet to respond to Barbara’s accusations on social media, where he maintains a large and controversial presence. But you can bet he won’t remain silent for long.
A Shaky Future
While David is calling for Kailyn Lowry to be fired, fans are imploring MTV to please, for goodness sake, give Jenelle Evans the ax before she hurts someone.
Drawing the Line
Right now, Jenelle Evans remains good for ratings, as the Carolina Hurricane never provides us with a dull moment. You can’t take that away from her, but at what cost? It seems the network is pushing its luck by continuing to employ someone who’s so prone to violence and unstable behavior.
A Tough Call
It’s not an easy decision for producers here. She hasn’t gone quite as far as David when it comes to crossing a red line that MTV deems as a bridge too far. Reality shows aren’t reality shows without villains, and fans either love, hate, or really love to hate Jenelle. Mostly the latter.
The Cost of Ratings
At the end of the day, if she injures someone on set, that could be the end of the Teen Mom franchise, which is already under fire from Kailyn Lowry and Chelsea Houska for putting the cast members’ lives at risk for the sake of entertainment. Imagine if Jenelle or someone else were to be assaulted and MTV did nothing, despite obvious warning signs. There’s a good chance that producers will be left wishing they had listened to the pleas of fans.
