The feud between Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell has been simmering for several years, but only in the last few months has it truly erupted.
As is so often the case, things really got bad after Farrah ran her mouth in one of her signature semi-coherent tirades.
Farrah expressed her unfounded belief that Catelynn is on drugs and that her husband, Tyler Baltierra, is gay.
It didn’t come out of nowhere, obviously, but the rant left many fans wondering just what Catelynn and Tyler did to make Farrah so very mad.
Now, it looks like we’re finally getting some background information on what’s shaping up to be one of the great Teen Mom fueds of all time!
It’s Been Fun, Farrah!
Farrah was recently fired by Teen Mom OG producers due to her refusal to stop performing in online sex shows. Abraham’s continued involvement in the adult entertainment world has long been a point of contention for her employers.
Making Enemies
Of course, several of Farrah’s castmates were happy to see her go, including Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, who have been the targets of Abraham’s embittered vitriol several times in the past few months.
Farrah Lets Loose
Back in December, Farrah went off on Lowell and Baltierra in a seemingly unprovoked Twitter tirade. “Catelynn smokes weed in her car, Tyler’s gay still doesn’t admit it, I travel the world & know how to run businesses,” Farrah wrote.
Why the Beef?
Obviously, Farrah’s insults were pretty weak (very few young people would be offended by being called gay or a pothead these days), but still, fans were intrigued, and many wondered why Farrah was so angry at Tyler and Catelynn.
No Help Here
Catelynn was in a rehab facility at the time of the attack, but Tyler clapped back on Twitter. Unfortunately, his reply didn’t shed much light on the matter. “In order for her to really insult me, I would first need to value her opinion and the lion does not dwell on the opinions of sheep,” he tweeted.
The Truth Is Out There
At first, the most common theory was jealousy. Tyler and Catelynn had recently launched a business venture, and Ms. Abraham likes to think of herself as the only true mogul on the cast. Now, however, we know that there was far more going on than we realized at the time…
Opening Up to Kailyn
Catelynn and Tyler sat down for an interview on Kailyn Lowry’s podcast this week, and not surprisingly, the subject of the Farrah feud came up.
Tyler vs. Michael
The couple explained to Kailyn that things between the Baltierras and the Abrahams were so tense at one point that Farrah’s father, Michael Abraham, challenged Tyler to a fight!
The Challenge
“Michael is actually a very interesting character,†Tyler said. “I never actually told anybody this but he physically got in my face and wanted to fight me about two reunions ago!
The Cause
And what prompted Michael to get so angry with Tyler? Well, it seems Baltierra made the critical mistake of giving his honest opinion on Farrah. And we all know how much Michael hates that!
Is That a Rhetorical Question?
“Michael comes up to me and points in my face and goes, ‘You want to talk about my daughter?’ and he gets in my face, literally nose to nose,†Tyler said.

“The security guy pushed [Michael] into the couch,†Lowell chimed in. “He was like, ‘Alright Michael that’s enough of that!’ It was crazy. They’re a whole different breed,†Baltierra added.
Deb Gets a Pass
Obviously, Catelynn and Tyler are no great fans of Farrah’s family, but they say they’ve managed to get along with her mother, Debra Danielsen – for the most part. “I do get along with Deb,†Catelynn said. “She’s kind of a chameleon too but we just saw her at the reunion and she was actually very sweet. She’s never been rude to me or said nasty things about me. I get along with Farrah’s mom.â€Â
Farrah, We Hardly Knew Ye
Obviously, Catelynn and Tyler couldn’t leave Kail’s show without discussing the topic of Farrah’s unceremonious firing and the ongoing quest to find a suitable replacement.
Mackenzie On Deck?
It’s been widely rumored that Teen Mom 3 star Mackenzie McKee will be replacing Farrah. However, Lowell pointed out an obvious problem with that plan. “They can’t [bring in another girl to our show] because we’re the OG’s, the original girls,†Catelynn said. “If you do that, it won’t be the original girls anymore.â€Â
A Modest Proposal
But it seems Catelynn does have an idea of how TMOG producers could flesh out the cast without undermining the show’s original premise.
The Other OGs
Lowell floated the idea of bringing in Whitney Purvis or Ebony Jackson who also starred in the first season of 16 & Pregnant. “I feel like that would be [good] because they were from the very first cast of ’16 and Pregnant,’†Catelynn said. “That would be crazy to see [where they ended up] since they didn’t follow them on TV,†Tyler chimed in. We get the feeling that as long as Farrah doesn’t make an unexpected return, the Baltierras will be happy.
