For several months now, we’ve suspected that confrontations between Jenelle Evans and David Eason frequently turn violent.
Jenelle’s 911 call from back in October provided a harrowing insight into the couple’s tumultuous and likely abusive relationship.
Evans later dismissed the situation as a “drunk and dramatic misunderstanding,” but domestic violence victims are often quick to defend their abusers — a fact that Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, pointed out during Monday night’s episode of Teen Mom 2 .
In a heartbreaking scene, a tearful Babs fretted over her daughter’s safety and worried that David might eventually “cost her everything.”
For those in denial it served as a wakeup call — and for David’s many critics, it confirmed what they’ve long suspected.
Take a look:
Better Days Jenelle and David’s relationship has always been an emotional rollercoaster, but over the past year, the marriage has had far more valleys than peaks.
David’s Downfall It’s been almost one full year since David was fired by MTV, a development that seems to have shattered Eason’s fragile psyche.
Horrendous Decision On February 14, 2018, David posted a photo of Jenelle shooting a gun just hours after the world learned of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Making It Worse When fans encouraged him to take the photo down out of respect to the victims’ families, David attacked them with homophobic slurs.
Self-Destruction David has remained unemployed in the year since his firing, and despite the fact that Jenelle’s role on Teen Mom 2 provides the family’s sole means of income, he seems hellbent on getting his wife fired, too,
Slave to His Emotions He probably couldn’t tell you why he does it, but David frequently menaces crew members during filming, making it impossible for them to prominently feature Jenelle on the show.
Jenelle’s Hell (MTV) As a result of David’s interference, Jenelle barely appeared on Monday night’s episode of Teen Mom 2.
The Kaiser Exchange Her only scene focused on an exchange of custody of son Kaiser between Jenelle and Nathan Griffith.
Painful Insight Many fans felt that the scene provided an uncomfortable glimpse into Jenelle and Kaiser’s relationship, as the boy seemed uncomfortable with his mother.
Gone But Not Forgotten But that doesn’t mean Ms. Evans didn’t make her presence felt.
Textual Harassment (MTV) After it was revealed that filming was shut down due to David’s presence at Jace’s soccer game, producers revealed several angry texts that they’d received from Jenelle.
On Strike Jenelle refused to continue filming following after David confronted the MTV crew at Jace’s soccer game.
Harsh Words Evans proceeded to bombard producers with increasingly irate — and nonsensical — text messages.
Come Again? At one point, she encouraged her bosses to contact her lawyer, leading us to believe she doesn’t really understand how employment works.
Telling It Like It Is Fortunately, Jenelle is not our sole source of information on the situation, and Barbara Evans had a great deal to say about David’s volatile behavior.
David’s Rage “Jenelle, she doesn’t want to film anymore, because anytime she makes a commitment to film, all of a sudden David starts a fight with her and she can’t film because if she films, she’s going to be in trouble when she gets home,” Barbara told a member of the show’s security staff.
You Don’t Want to Get a REAL Job, Do You? “I told her, I said look Jenelle, this is your job, you’ve been doing this for 10 years,” she continued.
She’s Got a Point “It’s not his show, it’s your show. I said, he’s not even working, what are you gonna do if you lose this show, you’re gonna lose everything you have. She’s gonna be homeless,” the elder Evans went on.
Shocking Allegation “I think he’s hurting her and he’s just keeping her … I can see it, it’s a domestic violence thing and he’s keeping her like a prisoner,” Babs accused, “She can’t even leave the house.”
Tragic Situation “Maybe she needs to lose everything,” said a tearful Barbara. “Maybe if she loses everything she can walk away from him.”
Silence on The Land Remarkably, Jenelle has yet to publicly respond to Barbara’s allegations against David.
A Glimpse at Things to Come But a preview from next week’s episode provides insight into Jenelle’s mental state.
On the Warpath “Stay the f–k away from me, I’m done,” Evans screams at one point.
Just Beginning (MTV) We think it’s safe to say this situation is bound to get worse before it gets better.
