Amber Portwood is in trouble with the law. This much we know to be a fact.
She just got arrested for felony domestic violence after allegedly attacking boyfriend Andrew Glennon early on the morning of July 5.
A dispatch recording confirms that Glennon told authorities Amber didn’t merely assault him, either. She did so while he was cradling their one-year old son in his arms.
What will this mean for Amber as a free woman? She could be headed for prison.
What will this mean for Amber as a single woman? Is she about to become one?

Okay. So What Happened Here?
Portwood and Glennon appeared to be in a great place… but then Amber was arrested in her Indiana home around 6 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
She Was Booked on a FELONY Charge of Domestic Violence

We know, right? The police have since confirmed that Amber (allegedly) attacked Andrew three hours before her arrest — and that he was holding their one-year old son, James, in his arms while she did so.

And this is what a dispatcher said about what transpired: “I received a text message from somebody saying that their life and their son’s life is in danger.†So, yes, the attack sounds VERY serious.
Where is Amber Now?
She’s NOT in jail, we know that much. Portwood was bailed out on Saturday, July 6.
But Here’s the Thing:
Radar Online has confirmed that Glennon was NOT the person who bailed her out.
Should This Be a Surprise?
We guess not, considering Amber reportedly attacked Andrew. But it certainly makes it clear that Glennon hasn’t forgotten what happened or forgiven Amber for it.
Where Do Things Go From Here?
Portwood is due in court for a hearing on July 10. “The state asked for a continuance,†a clerk for Marion County Court told Radar. “That is normal.â€Â
Attacking One’s Boyfriend and Baby Daddy is Not Normal, Though
We aren’t trying to be snarky here. We’re more saying that Amber has now exhibited this violent behavior on TWO occasions: she was arrested for attacking her first baby daddy, Gary Shirley, in 2010.
Really?!?
Yup. After violating the terms of her probation by being caught with prescription pills in 2012, Amber was sentenced to five years in prison.
She Ended Up Serving 17 Months
This past may very well come back to haunt Amber, both personally with Andrew because he sees a pattern here… and also when it comes to the law and whatever punishment gets doled out to Portwood in the near future.
What Makes This So Shocking?
Amber and Andrew seemed to be happier than ever. On their one-year anniversary last August, Portwood wrote on Instagram: “One year from yesterday I met this amazing man and it is truly a dream!â€Â
They Met on the Set of Marriage Boot Camp in 2017
And Amber hasn’t really stopped gushing over him since. “[Andrew] doesn’t hit me or cheat on me so yeah I treat him like a real man,†Amber wrote in February of 2018. taking a swipe at past lovers perhaps and adding: “If you are a liar and cheater yeah bless your soul lol and get out of my way.”
She Recently Said She’s Open to Having More Kids
With Andrew specifically, that is. “If that happened, I wouldn’t be mad,” Amber admitted to Us Weekly about having a second child with Glennon down the line.
She Even Added at the Time:
“He’s my soulmate. And he’s a beautiful person.”
How Did This Happen Then?!?
We can’t say for sure, of course, but Portwood has battled depression for years. She has been very open about this.
How Bad Did It Get For Her?
Very bad. Amber has said she thought about suicide after giving birth.
Wow. For Real?
Yes. “It went from taking care of James so amazingly to one night I had to give him to Andrew,†she said on an episode of Teen Mom OG about how she felt on that awful night about a year ago.
Andrew Actually Saved Her Life
“There was one night in California where I said to Andrew, ‘Just go to sleep, go to sleep. Take James with you.’ I was going to hang myself,†she revealed to Dr. Drew. But Glennon sensed something was wrong and wouldn’t leave her alone.

Amber may have sadly said it best a few months ago, describing how her depression can take hold. “I haven’t really been doing very well when it comes to mood swings,†she said this spring. “Any little thing, tiny, tiny thing, will enrage me.â€Â
