Season Six of 90 Day Fiance is upon us, and the new couples bring something new to the table: babies.
Some couples on this series will make you believe in love again. Others will make you plead with your screen for them to break up.
Quite frankly, some of the more toxic couples might just deserve each other.
We’ve already seen the 90 Day Fiance Season 6 trailer, but now we’re learning a lot more about these couples.
Jonathan and Fernanda
Jonathan is a 32-year-old native of Lumberton, North Carolina, but when he met 19-year-old Fernanda in a club in Mexico, he extended his vacation to spend more time with her. Three months later, he proposed.
But . . .
They have a 13-year age gap and one of them is literally a teenager. They’re both adults, but hooking up on vacation is very different from getting married. Fernanda’s youth definitely comes up, while Jonathan is learning to leave behind his bachelor lifestyle.
Ashley and Jay
Ashley (32) and Jay (20) met while she was in Jamaica for a friend’s wedding. They struck up a conversation on social media afterwards, and then she went back to visit him again. He proposed to her after only 8 days.
But …
On top of the age difference between these two, there are concerns by Ashley’s loved ones that Jay may be a cheater. He certainly seems crazy about Ashley, but is it love or lust?
Colt and Larissa on 90 Day Fiance
Colt is a 33-year-old Las Vegas native who hasn’t had the best luck with the ladies. Then he met 31-year-old Larissa of Brazil on social media. They met up in Mexico, where Colt proposed after only 5 days together.
But …
In the nicest terms possible, Colt has been single for so long for a reason. Part of that is that he is a grown man who is accustomed to being taken care of by his mother. Will Larissa get along with his mom? Also, at least some of those closest to him think that Larissa has an ulterior motive.
Eric and Leida
Eric is a 40-year-old divorced dad with three daughters, and he met 29-year-old Leida through a personal ad. This couple flips the script, because it is Leida who comes from a much wealthier background.
But …
Like we said, it’s a neat reversal to see that the wealthier person in the relationship is younger, female, and non-American. But Eric fears that Leida won’t adjust to his middle class lifestyle. Meanwhile, Eric’s daughters are worried about Leida’s intentions.
Kalani and Asuelu
Kalani is a 29-year-old Orange County native who, having been raised Mormon, was a virgin until she went on vacation in Samoa. There, she met 23-year-old Asuelu and both lost her virginity and became pregnant in one fell swoop.
But …
Kalani’s family is not taking this well — especially her father and sister. Kalani has a 5-month-old baby, but will that be enough to keep these two together? We’re looking at a lot of cultural differences with these two.
Steven and Olga
Steven is a 20-year-old American who met Olga on a Maryland beach while the 20-year-old Russian was vacationing. Six weeks later, Olga was pregnant, so the couple decided over long distance to become engaged so that Olga could come to the US and they could raise their baby together.
But …
Steven and Olga may be age-appropriate, but having great chemistry during a fling in Maryland is not the same thing as being compatible. Previews make it look like this couple may be toxic for each other. We know that Steven’s father died when he was young so he is determined to be there for his baby, but things may not work out the way that he hopes.
Who will make it? Who won’t?
Sometimes, one member of the a couple is the actual worst. Sometimes, they’re both terrible people. But sometimes, two good people are compatible and it works out. It will be interesting to see how these babies change the show’s dynamic.
