With 10,586 stores in 24 countries, Walmart is the world’s largest retail chain by a pretty substantial margin.
As such, it attracts all kinds of people — most of them fine, upstanding folk who are just picking up a few items on their way home from work.
(Or, if they’re anything like us, going in for a few items, and coming out with a cartload of crap they don’t actually need.)
Of course, that’s not the case with every Walmart shopper.
Some of them are folks you’d probably prefer not to know — and some of them multimillionaire celebrities who can’t resist the allure of bargain basement prices on Hanes sweatsuits.
It’s a heady mix!
Yes, whether you’re a Target shopper or a staunch devotee of the Big W, there’s no denying that the People of Walmart are an interesting bunch.
Join us, as we tell their story:

Ah, Walmart. Who among us doesn’t love their unique combination of low prices, friendly staff, and sticky floors?

Seriously, though, what’s up with those floors?

Is that just a local thing, or are they all like that?

But enough about the floors! We’re here to talk about the PEOPLE who make Walmart great!

From billionaire heir to the family fortune (and Denver Broncos owner) Rob Walton to the lowliest stock clerk to the doomsday prepper stocking up on canned goods. For millions of Americans, Walmart is where the heart is.

Yes, that’s a reference to the 2000 movie where Natalie Portman plays a pregnant lady who lives inside a Walmart. It’s not bad! Okay, it’s not good, either, but it speaks to the importance of the ‘Mart in American culture!

You know who else loves Walmart? Britney Spears! She’s been photographed shopping at locations in SoCal and her native Louisiana!

Little People, Big World fans will know that Amy Roloff is also a diehard Walmart devotee!

Rihanna probably isn’t a Walmart regular, but she was spotted at a store in the Canadian town of Kamloops in 2013. So that’s something!

Just a few months later, Canadian music legend Justin Bieber was also spotted at a Walmart in his native country. Maybe they don’t have many retail options north of the border!

Of course, American celebs love themselves some Walmart too — none more so than Miley Cyrus. Miley once launched a clothing line partnership with the retail giant, and she revealed in an interview that she often spends thousands of dollars in a single trip to her nearest store. The pop star even adopted a dog she found in a Walmart parking lot!

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been spotted in multiple Walmarts over the years. Most recently, he spent $300 at a Walmart in New Mexico!

Nicolas Cage and Jessica Alba are among the other stars who have been spotted shopping at Walmart over the years.

So next time someone makes fun of you for spending too much time and money at your favorite big-box store, just tell them you’re doing as the stars do! And if they believe you, you might need to find less gullible friends!
