It can be difficult to judge the fashion choices made by celebrities at the MET Gala each year.
That’s because this event is meant to bring out unique designs and dresses.
But still. We’re up for the challenge.
We’ve taken a long, close, painful look at every ensemble donned at the 2017 MET Gala and we’ve determined that the following stars either tried too hard… didn’t try hard enough… or wore camouflage to the event.
This is our list of Worst Dressed.
Madonna

Camouflage? No, Madonna. You should know better.
Kim Kardashian

While most celebrities tried too hard at the Gala, Kim didn’t try hard enough. How boring is this?!?
Kendall Jenner

Why even bother wearing a dress, Kendall? You could have just gone naked instead of rocking this desperate outfit.
Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid went with a confusing, asymmetrical Tommy Hilfiger ensemble that included fishnet stockings. Weird, right?
Wiz Khalifa

Wiz Khalifa attending a fashion event. Or auditioning to be a circus ring leader?
Mandy Moore

The one shoulder exposed? The bright purple makeup? We love you Mandy Moore, but just… no. When it comes to this ensemble, no.
Thandie Newton

Give Thandie Newton props for being very original with this headpiece. But that’s the nicest thing we can say about it.
Dakota Johnson

Too many ruffles, Dakota Johnson. From top to bottom of this dress, just too many ruffles.
Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne painted her head silver and sprinkled silver glitter on herself. Hey, at least she had a theme!
Rita Ora

Sorry, Rita Ora. You tried. But you look like a present that we don’t really want to unwrap.
Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer was doing okay here. Until she went with the flowers on the sleeves. Why?!?
The Olsen Twins

This is how The Olsen Twins always look, for the most part. But that doesn’t mean we need to like it.
Nicki Minaj

Maybe this could have worked if she had just stuck with the body suit. But why add the fancy train?
Maggie Gyllenhaal

What’s that weird piece hanging down the middle of this flower-themed outfit, Maggie Gyllenhaal?
