Search engines: Pills prohibited, porn permitted

» More Internet

Europe loves sex, hates violence. America loves sex, hates violence. And while search engines still love their steamy Paris & Gina tapes, they’d rather not gargle Imitrex.

Google and Overture (now owned by Yahoo) began banning Internet pharmacies from advertising on their networks, though they continue to allow X-rated sites to post their wares. The policies may be relaxed to allow “licensed” pharmacies from advertising, which would eliminate most foreign (read: Canada) sites from listings.

So if you’re looking for your monthly supply of Wellbutrin for your “depression” or Zyprexa for your “psychotic attacks,” be sure to use Dogpile instead. Us, we’ve made it our homepage.
