Band members tend to make fewer headlines than, say, solo pop stars. When they do grab your attention, it’s usually with something really good … or bad.

This time, unfortunately, we’re the bearers of bad news that even casual music fans should know.

Brad Fischetti posted a video (below) to share bandmate Devin Lima’s health update. And … it’s cancer.

Both men are members of the pop band, LFO.

To clarify, just as LFO doesn’t mean “Light Fuel Oil” or whatever the acronym might mean to you at first, this is the American band named LFO, not the British band by the same name.

In this case, LFO stands for Lyte Funkie Ones.

LFO actually only has two members. Devin Lima is the vocalist.

They were previously a trio, but former lead singer and primary songwriter Rich Cronin passed away in 2010 after suffering a stroke related to complications stemming from his leukemia treatments.

So, unfortunately, LFO and its fans are no strangers to bad news or to illness.

That doesn’t make it any easier to report that Devin Lima has been diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer.

The grim task of delivering the news of Devin Lima’s diagnosis fell to Brad Fischetti.

During the video, which is below, you can see that he’s putting on a brave face. But this is difficult news to deliver.

“[Devin] asked me to send you his love and gratitude for all the love and prayers you guys have sent his way.”

Even through everything that he’s going through, the guy’s thinking about his fans.

“He’s had a tough recovery and a few really difficult days in the hospital.”

Just about anything can be rough when you’re dealing with cancer, but surgeries to remove the infected organs?

That’s not easy on anyone.

”Thankfully he’s home now, resting and healing. ”

Brad shares that Devin’s adrenal cancer is considered rare, even “one in a million,” because it originated in his adrenal gland.

He also shares that it is considered stage 4 because it had spread to his kidney (which was removed).

Still, Brad is trying to stay positive.

“I wish we had better news to share. It’s devastating news but at the same time, there’s nobody I know stronger than Devin Lima.”

That’s a very promising statement.

”No one has a stronger body, mind or soul. If anybody can defeat this, it’s Devin.”

We’re sure that he’s saying this as much for himself as for the fans.

”I know with your prayers and your thoughts and your positive energy coming down his way, there’s no doubt that he will beat it. ”

That kind of positive attitude can really make a difference when battling certain cancers.

Devin Lima will under go chemotherapy and radiation therapy in order to target lingering cancer cells in his body. Let’s all hope for the best.

Here’s the video.

Remember, this is a video of a guy describing his friend and bandmate’s battle with a potentially terminal illness that is already ravaging his body.

So … it’s rough.
