The following footage will simultaneously break your heart… and give you hope.
It features a six-year girl named Tiana. She’s sitting on the steps and she’s very concerned about her parents, who recently filed for divorce.
"Are you ready to be his friend?" Tiana asks her mother of her father.
"Try not to be that high up to be friends, I want everything to be low, OK? Just try your best…I want you and my dad to be in a place that’s settled and be friends."
Apparently Tiana had witnessed a fight between her parents (over a shoe rack), which prompted this sad/adorable speech.
"I’m not trying to be mean," the toddler continues "I just want everyone to be friends. And if I can be nice, all of us can be nice too. I’m not trying to be mean, I’m trying to do my best in my heart."
"I was stunned by it! She is teaching me!!" her mother wrote of the clip, later adding on Facebook:
"Thank you to all of the sweet messages for My Daughter Tiana. As a single mom and working 2 jobs it’s hard to find the time to reply to everyone."
