Johanna Colon, 6, has become a viral video sensation following her sassy dance recital routine to Aretha Franklin’s classic song "Respect."
We imagine Aretha would be proud.
Not only did she deliver an on-point routine with plenty of attitude and style, but encouraged her fellow dancers from Heather’s Dance Inc., when they lost their step, and gathered them for a collective bow.
Johanna’s mother, Elissa, initially posted a video of her daughter’s routine to show relatives, but never thought it would be a hit.
"She practiced very hard,” Elissa told NBC’s Today, noting that her little girl loved the classic 1967 song from the get-go.
"She would make me play it on Pandora constantly. All eyes were on her from the beginning. As soon as she walked out, everybody was just floored."
The tiny dancer hasn’t comprehended her new status as the Internet’s latest viral video star, because well, she’s six.
"We told Johanna about it, and she’s excited, but she really doesn’t totally understand," her mother explained.
"She was more excited that she had her last day of school and that she got ice cream for having a great report card."
