No matter how badly she may want to these days, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth cannot change her family any more than she can change the very fiber of her being.

She’s stuck with a brother who was arrested this spring on child pornography charges and with parents who enabled his admitted addiction every step of the way.

There’s nothing Joy-Anna can do about that.

But at least she can change her appearance.

In a move that seems directly related to the ongoing scandal surrounding Josh Duggar and his allegedly heinous actions, Joy-Anna has undergone a makeover.

A major makeover!

The 23-year old captioned Instagram footage of her trip to Mane and Co hair salon in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday, August 14.

“New hair, Same me! First time coloring my hair!! What do y’all think?”

In the video, the Arkansas native gets pampered by her stylist, Alex York.

After applying her color with foils, the 23-year-old Joy-Anna is treated to a relaxing wash before a blow-dry.

As you can see below, the final look is styled with loose waves, which perfectly shows off her brand new highlights.

Joy-Anna was accompanied to the appointment by her close friend Carlin Stewart (formerly Carlin Bates).

The Bringing Up Bates star even appeared in a frame of Joy-Anna’s reel and remarked as follows on the post.

“Ahhh…love it so much!"

"You are BEAUTIFUL."

What does this have to with Josh Duggar?

Nothing, perhaps, but we can read into it.

After all, Joy-Anna also rocked a pair of short shorts this month, flashing some major leg in the process – and, of course, sticking it to dad Jim Bob and his controlling ways as well.

Now, with a new blonde look, one doesn’t need to work very hard in order connetct the dots and realize that Joy-Anna is trying to get a fresh start.

One can’t really blame her, either.

In a text post shared to her Instagram story on early May, in the wake of the bombshell scandal, Joy addressed the arrest of her sibling.

"The recent accusations against Josh sadden us to our core," she wrote on behalf of herself and her husband, Austin, adding at the time:

"We have not wanted to be hasty in making any statements while still trying to process the news ourselves."

Concluded the couple:

"We are especially heartbroken by the reality that there are children in the world being harmed and exploited."

"We ask for prayer for all those involved," they continued.

"It is our continued prayer that the truth comes to light."

At this point, it sure sounds as if it will, whether the Duggar family likes the outcome or not.

Josh is scheduled to go on trial in November.

And, based on the evidence we’ve learned prosecutors have against the father of six?

His future looks VERY bleak. Fortunately, Joy-Anna’s looks brighter by the day.

And we don’t just mean her hair.
