Kailyn Lowry has said a lot of crazy stuff over the years.
But it’s mostly been in good, harmless fun.
It’s mostly had to do with annoying ex-boyfriends or various storylines on Teen Mom 2 or the latest stupid thing that Jenelle Evans has said.
Lowry recently entered new territory, however.
To many people, what she recently said what truly crazy; as in, these people are now questioning not only Kailyn’s mental capacity, but her fitness as a mother.
To what could we possibly be referring?

How Did Lowry Just Create an Uproar?
On her podcast, Coffee Convos, Lowry revealed in a discussion with co-host Lindsie Chrisley that does not believe kids should be vaccinated.
Oh God. What Did She Say Exactly?
“I definitely think this is a controversial topic and I don’t want to lose listeners because of my opinions, but I did vaccinate Isaac because — to me — I didn’t know any better and I let them vaccinate him with whatever they basically said that he needed,” Kailyn said to open this segment. “I feel like I was ignorant and didn’t do research and didn’t know any better.”
Wait, She Now Thinks She Was “Ignorant” Because She DID Vaccinate Her First Child?
Yes. Hence the controversy.
Kailyn Continued with Her Philosophy:
She told Lindsey on this podcast, referring to child number-two: “With Lincoln, I knew a little bit more and I started to research more and that’s when — I think — the conversation about vaccination started to really go on with me and my friends who became moms, and there were documentaries on Netflix and all kinds of news that I would try to look into.”
Did She Say “Netflix Documentaries?”
Yes, she did. Again: hence the controversy here. Some folks think Lowry should heed the advice of doctors, not filmmakers.
So, What Has Lincoln Received?
“Lincoln did not get all of his vaccines,” Lowry said. “I definitely picked and chose which ones I felt like were necessary, and he did not get them all at once. He did one or two vaccines at a time, and again those were the ones I felt that he needed.”
What About Little Lux?
“Lux is 18 months and he is not vaccinated. He hasn’t really ever been sick and for me, I think the more research that I do and the more educated I’ve become, [I’m thinking,] just don’t vaccinate him.â€Â
Really, There Are No Words Here
There is a segment of the population who talk on Reddit and believe in conspiracy theories and who think that vaccinations can lead to Austism. This has literally never happened. There is not a single recorded instance of this happening. Anyone who does not vaccinate his or her children is putting them and others in danger. That is a fact.
How So?
Well… there’s an outbreak of Measles right at this very moment in Oregon because some parents there did not get their kids vaccinated. This is an easy-to-eradicate disease that people are choosing NOT to eradicate.
Or Let’s Try This Thought Experiment:
Let’s say Lux gets the flu because Kailyn won’t get him a flu shot. And then he plays with Javi Marroquin’s two-month old or any other baby, for whom the flu can be deadly. (And who is too young to get the full flu shot in one sitting.) It’s very much in the realm of possibilities for Lux to give this baby the flu and kill him or her as a result.
But Lowry Doesn’t Care
Seemingly unaware that her decision can have a domino effect and endanger other kids as well, Lowry doesn’t think you should judge her.
After All, She Isn’t Judging You as a Parent
“You’re a parent, you know what’s best for your child, and I’m not here to judge,†she said, adding later in the podcast: “I’m not here to start a parenting argument about it.”
But She Did Start a Major Argument About It
Because DOCTORS KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THE HEALTH OF YOUR CHILD, Kailyn. That’s, like, their entire job. They go to many years of school for it, okay?
In Response to the Backlash, Lowry Has Issued a New Statement
And she is not backing down one bit.
This is What She Said:
“I guess the only thing I can really say and continue to stand for is to parent how it’s best for your child and family,” she told In Touch Weekly after reading all the hate she had been receiving.
And She Added:
“People don’t love everything I do, but I don’t shove my beliefs down anyone else’s throat. I know what’s best for my kids and other parents know what’s best for theirs.”
THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF BELIEFS!
THIS IS SCIENCE! GRRRR! WE ARE SO ANGRY ABOUT THIS.
How Do Her Baby Daddies Feel About This?
Javi “texted me asking me how I felt about Lincoln getting a flu shot because I guess he told me that Lauren [Comeau] is a big believer in vaccines,” Lowry said of her ex-husband. “So, I said ‘Whatever you guys choose to do with your son is fine, but my son’s not getting the flu vaccine.'”
What About Jo Rivera and/or Chris Lopez?
We don’t know their take on vaccines right now.
Okay. What About Lindsie Chrisley?
Lowry’s co-host did chime in and did say: “What people choose to do with their kids is their business, and what I choose to do with mine is what works for me.”
For the 217th Time, This Isn’t True
Not when it comes to vaccines and how those who have not received them can cause outbreaks of disease.
But Did Lindsie Vaccinate Her Kids?
Yes, she said on the podcast.
And She at Least Offered Some Perspective
“To be perfectly honest, my pediatrician, and any of the other moms that I talked to in regards to vaccines, all pediatricians are 100% pro-vaccine,” she added, but then she also said. “So you’re going to get, like, that one medical side.” (That’s not “one medical side, Lindsie. That is THE medical side of a medical issue.)
And Then She Actually Added This:
“You’ve got to consider, too, that it’s a business.” Yes, that’s it: doctors are pushing for the flu shot in order to line their own pockets.
VACCINATE YOUR CHILDREN, EVERYONE
For the love of God, listen to the medical professionals here. The World Health Organization recently listed “vaccine hesitancy†as one of its 10 threats to global health in 2019. There aren’t two sides to this issue.
