Though Kristin Cavallari has endured morons body-shaming her children, she’s sadly been through worse.
Tuesday marked the somber three-year anniversary of her brother’s disappearance and death.
Kristin took to Instagram to share a sincere tribute to Michael, and to explain why this anniversary of his death is the hardest one yet.
On Tuesday, November 27, Kristin shared this throwback of her with her late brother, Michael Cavallari.
"Home from a busy morning," Kristin writes. "And thinking of my brother."
Of course.
"Today," she continues. "Is the 3 year anniversary of his passing."
Kristin adds: "and I think this year is one of the hardest."
When she explains why, you’ll understand why the third anniversary can hurt worse than the first or second.
Kristin elaborates on why this anniversary is hitting home more than others.
She writes: "as it’s real now."
What she means by that is that she can really feel — and has accepted that — her brother has died.
"He’s not coming back," she admits. "And the shock is finally gone."
"Today and every single day, Mikey, we miss you," Kristin concludes.
That is heartbreaking.
In 2015, Michael Cavallari’s 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on the I-70 in Utah.
On that fateful Nov. 27, the search for Michael began. It took three days for authorities to find his body.
Michael had died of hypothermia.
Last year, Kristin made another post about Michael’s passing.
"We lost him completely unexpectedly and it’s been a rough road for me and my family," Kristin said.
"I’ve had some incredible signs from him though," she continued.
Kristin wrote that these were signs "which give me a lot of peace- including one today."
At the time, she concluded: "We love and miss you everyday Mikey."
Kristin also appeared on Hollywood Medium with Tyler henry.
"He was dealing with some demons," Kristin told him. "There’s no doubt about it."
"When my brother died, he got out of his car and he was walking," Kristin shared.
She shared: "I don’t think he wanted to be found.
But did it get to a point where he got lost out there?" she asked.

Tyler spoke to her about what he was getting about her late brother’s passing.
"I kept hearing, ‘I didn’t know what was going on,’" Tyler began.
Tyler continued: "And then there’s an emphasis on two factors playing on someone’s mental state."
"It’s kind of like, ‘There’s no saving me,’" Tyler characterized.
Kristin broke down in tears, saying: "It kills me."

If you have ever been unfortunate enough to lose a sibling, you know the agony of it, and how long it can take to "feel real."
The three-year anniversary is not the end of Kristin’s sadness on this subject.
In particular, losing a loved one right between major holidays can rub further proverbial salt into emotional wounds.
Thanksgiving makes one all-too-aware of who should be at the table with everyone else, but is not.
And whichever holidays you celebrate in December, the loss of a loved one cannot be ignored.
Our thoughts are with Kristin and her family at this sensitive time.
