Maci Bookout is such a treasure, right?
There’s so much Teen Mom gossip out there, all the time, and so much of it is bad — Jenelle Evans’ child abuse allegations and newfound love of guns, Farrah Abraham’s legal troubles and general awfulness.
It’s actually pretty rare to hear just a happy, nice story about someone from the show, but if you do hear one, it’s probably about Chelsea Houska or Maci.
Since she’s so great, Maci recently made an appearance on Kailyn Lowry’s podcast, and while she was there, she discussed a whole, whole lot of things.
The pregnancy rumors? Her new house? Ryan Edwards’ latest arrest?
She talks about all that, and more!
So let’s get into what she had to say …
Everyone Loves Maci!
Seriously, isn’t Maci just the greatest?
A Strong Possibility

Is she the greatest mom out of all the Teen Moms? Maybe, yeah.
Thanks, Girl!
Since she’s so great and everything, she decided to do us all a solid and have a chat with Kailyn on her podcast, you know, just to update us on everything that’s been going on in her life.
SO MUCH

And, as you probably know, there’s been a WHOLE lot going on.
Moving On
For example, you may have heard that Maci and her husband, Taylor McKinney, recently sold their house. What’s up with that?
Oh
As she explained to Kailyn, they were looking to build a house on some land they own, but while they were checking out other houses to get an idea of what they’d want for their new house, they found one, already built and everything, that they really loved.
Makes Sense
So they just went ahead and bought that one, sold their old one, and they’re keeping the land because hey, why not?
Pregnant or Not?
Maci also touched on all those pregnancy rumors. They’ve been happening for a while now, so is there any truth to them?
Sorry!

She denied the rumors, but she did say that she and Taylor are still looking to adopt in the future.
Smart
However, adoption is “going to be down the road because we donâÂÂt want to adopt a baby, we want to adopt a child, so we want to make sure that our family is in, like⦠no oneâÂÂs ever in a perfect position, but in like a really good position to do so because adopting a child is a very big commitment.âÂÂ
On Bristol

Later, she discussed the addition of Bristol Palin to the cast of Teen Mom OG, and her feelings were pretty clear …
No More OG?

âÂÂI think me and Catelynn and Amber are pretty much on the same page,” she said. “If they bring in new cast members, then we donâÂÂt want it to be called âÂÂTeen Mom OGâ because thatâÂÂs not true if thereâÂÂs new cast members.âÂÂ
Rude!
She confirmed the reports that she, Amber, and Catelynn learned about Bristol’s addition to the cast the same time the rest of us did, and that âÂÂsome sort of courtesy callâ from MTV would have been appreciated.
On the Bright Side …

She’s not too upset about the new cast member though, because âÂÂWell, I really feel like IâÂÂm not going to be mad at anybody joining because anybody is better than Farrah.âÂÂ
Ugh

Of course the subject of Ryan Edwards had to come up at some point, too, right?
Well …

Maci admitted she had “no idea” how Ryan is doing these days because she’s got that restraining order against him, so she really hasn’t seen him lately.
Ol’ Jailbird Ryan!
When the podcast was recorded, Ryan was still in jail, and Maci said “I do know why, but I just donâÂÂt want to say.”
Interesting!

Now we know that Ryan was arrested because he violated his probation by speeding – he was caught going 25 MPH over the speed limit. But it’s sweet that she didn’t share all of his business, isn’t it?
True

“To be honest with you,” she said, “I think I feel better that heâÂÂs in jail because I know heâÂÂs safe there ⦠I know heâÂÂs not driving around, heâÂÂs not, ya know, heâÂÂs not doing something that could potentially really hurt him or an innocent person.âÂÂ
So Sad
âÂÂItâÂÂs BentleyâÂÂs dad,” she continued, “and although Bentley is about to be 10, IâÂÂm not sure how much time he can make up now but still, no one ever wants to tell their child something terrible has happened to their parent.âÂÂ
Poor Bentley
She revealed that Bentley does know what’s been happening with Ryan, but whenever anything “really bad” went down, he was primarily worried about whether or not he’d be able to maintain his relationship with Ryan’s parents.
Fair Enough

That makes sense – whenever Ryan had Bentley, his parents were the ones who actually took care of him.
Awww, Maci

Thankfully, although Maci obviously isn’t getting along with Ryan at the moment, and although she’s had plenty of issues with his parents, Jen and Larry, they are getting along right now, if only for Bentley’s sake.
Sweet!

âÂÂWeâÂÂre not always going to get along or agree with each other,” she said, “but the four of us do a really good job of making sure that everything is good for Bentley and that Bentley gets to spend time with them and in that aspect, everything is normal for Bentley.âÂÂ
The Feud Lives!
But you know who Maci isn’t getting along with? Come on, you know.
Believe
About Mackenzie Standifer, Ryan’s wife, Maci said âÂÂI mean, in my situation, if somebody shows you who they are, believe them the first time. So IâÂÂm keeping a good distance from that one.âÂÂ
The BEST Mom!
But even though she’s not Mackenzie’s biggest fan, she’s still going to do her best to play nice so that Bentley doesn’t suffer.
Way to Go, Girl

As she explained it, âÂÂIt will be, I think, a struggle to try to find a way to make sure that no matter whatâÂÂs going on with Ryan that Bentley has a relationship with his brother. Both brothers, reallyâÂÂHudson and the new brother.âÂÂ
The High Road
Kailyn and her co-host, Lindsie, told Maci how impressive it’s been that she’s managed to take the high road when it comes to Ryan and Mackenzie, and she said she’s just a âÂÂhigh road kind of person.”
No Fixing This

âÂÂIâÂÂm a fixer,â she said. âÂÂI couldnâÂÂt fix him, so I left and then I continued to try to fix him even though it wasnâÂÂt like I wanted to be in a relationship with him, but I wanted the best for Bentley and I wanted things to be easy on me and him, ya know? I didnâÂÂt want to rip his eyeballs out of his face every time I saw him and I know he felt the same about me.âÂÂ
Yay, Maci!
What an enlightening interview, right? And, as always, Team Maci!
