Upon announcing Rachel Lindsay as The Bachelorette, ABC made history by naming the first-ever African-American Bachelorette.
Now, upon confirming Arie Luyendyk Jr. will be the next Bachelor, the network has once again made history…
… by naming the first ever unheard of Bachelor!
Luyendyk is a 35-year-old race car driver who appeared on the eighth season of The Bachelorette, finishing second way back in 2012… and he hasn’t really been in the mainstream celebrity gossip news for years.
Hence, the following reactions on Twitter to his selection:
We’d Love to See Zach Braff as The Bachelor
And it sounds like the actor is up for it.
HA!
We do think Sean Lowe meant this in good fun.
This is the Same Person?
We’re so confused.
A Picture Says 1,000 Words?
So does a look.
I’m Sorry?
Who?!?
Once Again:
Who?!?
I Don’t Know Him
But he looks old.
Hooray!
Wait… what?!?
I… Just… Can’t
All the awful feels.
Done. Done.
And may I add… DONE!
So Long, ABC
You had a nice little run.
And Now a Word from Doc Rivers
Or a facial expression, at least.
WAIT!
He may not be so terrible after all.
