We already knew that Desiigner was very bad at spelling.
But now comes word that he’s also bad at trying to peddle drugs.
According to TMZ insiders, the rapper was arrested on Thursday night in New York City after a road rage incident led to felony drug and weapons charges.
Law enforcement sources tell the aforementioned celebrity gossip site that Desiigner (really, we can’t write that name with a straight face) was among a group of people inside a SUV.
At some point, these people and the driver of another vehicle started to yell at each other.
From here, the driver of the other car dialed 911 and claimed Desiigner pointed a gun at him.
The SUV sped away soon after the confrontation, but self-proclaimed victim took down the license plate number.
Cops therefore came across the SUV a short time later, searched it… and discovered a massive quantity of loose pills in the center console.
Oxycontin was reportedly among the drugs confiscated at the scene.
Desiigner and four other individuals were taken into custody.
All five of them were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell.
Both of these crimes are felonies.
As of this writing, all five remain in custody.
Desiigner, meanwhile, was also charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing… for supposedly sticking his gun in the face of the other driver.
Desiigner’s real name is Sidney Royel Selby III.
He hails from Brooklyn, New York and his hit “Panda” shot to number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
In February of this year, Kanye West announced that he had signed Desiigner to his GOOD Music imprint, under the aegis of Def Jam Recordings.
And here’s a little known fact about Desiigner: He was shot at the age of 14.
It was shortly after that when he decided to focus on music as his career.
