Josh Duggar received a special visitor in sex rehab over Christmas in his wife Anna, who made a secret trip from Arkansas to Illinois.
Whispers of a secret trip to visit Josh surfaced earlier this week after a private plane flown by brother John David Duggar landed nearby.
John David, the second-eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle’s 19 Kids & Counting along with twin sister Jana Duggar, is a licensed pilot.
He reportedly was in charge of flying Josh to rehab in Rockford, Ill., months ago, and for taking Anna Duggar to see him this Christmas.
A plane owned by the Duggars made the trip to and from Arkansas to Illinois and back after the holiday, according to aviation records.
The Duggar family has not confirmed any visit to see Josh.
Josh has been stashed away at Reformers Unanimous since publicly confessing his addiction to online porn and cheating on Anna.
Despite a difficult year for the Duggars, and the fact that Josh is wholly to blame for it, the family did its best to have a special week.
"Everyone just had fun and seemed to be high spirits, including Anna," a source close to the family adds, furthering rumors of reconciliation.
Anna visited Josh with daughter Meredith Grace just one month ago, and publicly professed that she hopes God will heal their union.
Insiders say it remains unclear how long Josh will remain on his "long journey toward wholeness and recovery," as they’re calling it.
It appears his wife will be by his side throughout, though.
Talk of Anna Duggar ending her "covenant marriage" has persisted, and for good reason, but it’s unlikely she’ll make a break for it.
Does that make her a good role model for women or a sad case of a long-suffering wife who lacks the resolve to stand up for herself?
All we can say with certainty is that debate will continue long after she makes a decision regarding her future, whatever it might be.
