Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard took a brief trip home to Arkansas on Friday, only to return to Central America with her sister Joy-Anna Duggar in tow.

The occasion for Jill and Derick’s return from their mission trip? Bringing Up Bates star Michaela (also known as Michael) Bates’ wedding!

Michaela got married to Brandon Keilen in Knoxville, Tenn., with Jessa Seewald and Jana Duggar – who was a bridesmaid! – also on hand.

"Excited to be back with family for the weekend! #IsraelLovesGrandma," mom Jill, 24, captioned a photo of her son with Michelle Duggar.

Jill also shared a family picture of herself, husband Derick, and their baby boy, writing, "Traveling! 🙂 #lovemyfamily @derickdillard."

The Duggars and Bates – who also have 19 kids, and star on their own UPtv program – are old friends, as we know from 19 Kids & Counting.

Jana even shot down Zach Bates‘ attempt to court her, but clearly that hasn’t hurt the close relationship between the two families of 21.

As soon as the big wedding was over, the missionaries got back on a plane – with one Duggar and one Bates family member in tow!

"Traveling back to Central America with these two! #joyduggar #carlinbates," Jill captioned the photo with Joy-Anna and Carlin Bates.

It’s not clear if Joy is spending a significant amount of time with the Dillards in Central America or if she’s just making a short trip.

The family announced their decision to become missionaries abroad in late June, not long after Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal.

Jill and Jessa, who was also a victim, will appear in TLC’s upcoming documentary, Breaking the Silence, about child sexual abuse.
