Last night on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Meghan hosted a couple’s game night, though her husband, Jim Edmonds, was MIA.
This turned into the gossip topic of the night for the ladies (term used loosely), as tensions and drama continued to mount on several fronts.
Meghan King Edmonds and Vicki Gunvalson butted heads, as you’ll see when watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online.
Is Meghan the new Tamra Barney? It seems like one week after another, there’s some issue or conflict that she’s in the middle of.
This installment’s hot topic and issue at hand?
Whether wives should work, or stay at home.
Gunvalson arrived late and wanted to leave Edmonds’ game night early because she was tired … and bored, which she made clear.
"Vicki snoring like that is classless," said Meghan of Vicki’s faux snoring noises to indicate she was SO over game night. "It’s rude."
Later, a trip to Tahiti was on tap, ’cause of course it was, but the trip promptly began on an awkward note, ’cause of course it did.
Vicki reflected on her mom’s recent death, and her late parent’s wisdom to "take time for myself … I’m going to take my mom’s advice."
She also took time to argue with Meghan.
"If I didn’t work … If I didn’t bring a paycheck home, I’d ask my husband," Gunvalson said as they debated whether to buy luxury gifts.
"That’s how women get themselves into the trouble," she added, rubbing some the wrong way, "they spend their husband’s money."
"First of all, I don’t go to work, but I work … for my family," said Shannon, raising an entirely valid point. "I’m a stay-at-home mom."
"If I were a husband, and my wife was out spending my money, I’d be pissed," Gunvalson continued her sort of unnecessary rant.
"I’ve never been privileged in a marriage that my husband took care of me … when you become the breadwinner, let’s see how you feel."
"Why is Vicki so heated about this?" Meghan mused. "Maybe she’s referring to me as a gold digger. Maybe she’s jealous of my situation."
Edmonds commented that she did work selling medical devices until she met former MLB All-Star Jim Edmonds and now … she doesn’t.
"You can fall in love and still work," said Gunvalson.
"I don’t think it’s a good idea she quit. What’s Meghan going to do when Jim moves on to wife number four? What does Meghan do to bring in money?"
"Looks like she goes to her husband for it."
Okay then. Her position on this is clear.
Meanwhile on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 8, Shannon and David met with their marriage therapist.
It’s clear the Beadors still have a lot to work on.
