Yesterday, Iggy Azalea whined about the failure of her latest single on social media, and is so often the case with Iggy, things quickly escalated from there.
When several fans and media outlets pointed out that it seemed as though Iggy was blaming collaborator Britney Spears for the fact that "Pretty Girls" flopped, the Aussie rapper positively went off:
"My comment is factual, it applies to any song," Iggy tweeted. "I don’t have to suck the woman’s a–hole 24/7 to be her friend, do I? Bye girls."
So Iggy did that thing where she threw shade without technically saying anything too messed up, and Britney played it smart by responding in kind.
As you may have heard Iggy’s first arena tour got canceled last night, because…well, no one wants to go to an Iggy Azalea concert.
It’s an embarrassing setback for an artist in the early (and probably final) stages of her career, so Queen Brit decided to subtly remind the Iggy of who the icon is.
Yes, the long-rumored Britney vs. Iggy feud is officially in full effect:
“Can’t wait to get back to Vegas," Britney tweeted last night. "So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe”
Normally, we’d say "shots fired," bet we’re pretty sure Brit just ended this war with one atomic blast.
After being burned like that, we wouldn’t be surprised if Iggy is currently packing up her collection of boomerangs and Crocodile Dundee hats and getting ready to head back Down Under for good.
