Last we heard from Brody Jenner, he was making graphic sex jokes about his teenage sister on Instagram. So it’s safe to say he might not be the authority on healthy familial relationships.
Nevertheless, Brody has been supportive of Caitlyn Jenner throughout her transition and he’s offered kind words about his father in several interviews over the past few weeks.
In fact, according to Radar Online, Brody was the first to offer his support to Caitlyn:
“Brody had been extremely supportive of everything that she had been doing,” said one insider. “Long before Kim publicly embraced it, he was there.”
So it came as a bit of a shock to Caitlyn when her oldest kids refused to participate in her reality show.
She opened up about her feelings in an interview with Vanity Fair, and though she says she’s now come to terms with her adult children’s decision to opt out, Brody was reportedly deeply hurt by her Caitlyn’s comments.
“Brody is still very hurt,” the source says, adding that “Brody just doesn’t want to be a part of the publicity circus.”
Next month, Caitlyn will receive the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the annual ESPY Awards, and currently, Brody has no plans to attend as a result of his falling out with Caitlyn.
“If Brody and Caitlyn don’t come to some common ground, he won’t be going,” says the insider.
We can see both sides of the argument:
We understand why Brody wouldn’t want to take part in yet another semi-scripted E!series, but on the other hand, as a Jenner, we’re pretty sure refusal to participate in a reality show is grounds to be disowned.
