A first impression lasts a lifetime. For one contestant on The Bachelorette season premiere, that first impression will make most people hate him for life.
Fans went to Twitter to blast contestant Ryan McDill (whom I affectionately refer to as McDillhole) for his off-putting and controversial comments Monday.
Ryan, 28, was asked to leave after he got drunk, smacked Kaitlyn Bristowe on the butt and made a rape comment to JJ, another competitor.
JJ confronted Ryan about his sh!tty behavior, to which McDill responded, “Why am I not raping you right now?”
Countless viewers quickly slammed McDill on Twitter reminding everyone that rape jokes and threats are NEVER okay.
"Oh yay! Ryan throws in a rape threat towards another male to seal the deal on his repulsiveness. Producers, step in," one fan Tweeted.
Another viewer tweeted, “All of my loyalty to the bachelorette goes out the window if Chris Harrison doesn’t kick Ryan off the show for his rape comment.”
“#TheBachelorette off to a great start, one guy just sexually assaulted the bachelorette and the. threatened to rape another contestant,” another said on Twitter.
Luckily, the show’s host, Chris Harrison, asked McDillhole to leave, citing that he wasn’t there for the right reasons.
We are glad Harrison asked him to leave, but the show should have been explicit in condemning his behavior as misogynistic and violent.
While he was dealt with, they brushed the real issues under the rug at the same time if you ask us. We’re curious if you agree.
With two women competing for the title role as the bachelorette, more drama is sure to come. Hopefully, we won’t encounter more losers like McDill.
