Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 18 marked the midseason finale of the reality hit, and the ALDC’s last competition in Pittsburgh before moving to L.A.
As expected, chaos ruled the day as Holly and Jessa clashed, the group continued to splinter from within and Cathy nearly fought some of the moms.
Seriously. We’re talking like full-on fist-fight throwdown style up in here.

If you watch Dance Moms online, you know the stakes are high.
It felt odd then that Abby was so lackadaisical on the big day.
Kalani, Maddie, Mackenzie and Kendall are at the dance convention JUMP, which offers classes and scholarships; Nia and JoJo were excluded.
As such, Dance Moms Holly and Jessa are pretty irate.
Cathy seizes the opportunity to stir the pot, obviously.
Jeanette later voices her opinion that all members of the ALDC should be at JUMP or Starbound, not split up. Melissa tells her to step off.
Abby says Holly’s predicament is her own doing, and you know Abby is never going to forget the music video and the debacle it’s become.
Naturally, Holly pivots to Jill, ripping her for dishing on ALDC issues to Cathy and Jeanette. Spoiler alert: Still no love lost between Holly and Jill.
Holly and Jessa appear to be in one clique, with Jill, Kira and Melissa in another. It’s getting to be more and more like middle school by the week!
Soon, Abby realizes that Kendall and Kalani are not going to make it in time, so Nia and JoJo have to step up and take their places, STAT.
Holly and Jessa, of course, choose to complain about the lack of preparedness instead of embracing this as a potentially big opportunity.
Meanwhile, Cathy continues her button-pushing insanity, trumpeting the virtues of Nia and knowing just how to rankle the ALDC faithful.
Nia and JoJo Siwa perform solos, but the ALDC is in shambles as the other girls have still not arrived in time to perform the group routine.
Jill gets a text saying that Kalani, Kendall, Maddie Ziegler and Mackenzie will all forfeit any scholarships if they leave at this point in time.
The rest of the team finally shows, but must get ready in a big damn hurry as Abby shrieks, freaks and makes noises only dogs can hear.
JoJo comes in third, Ava comes in first, and Nia is shut out.
The Candy Apples come in second in the junior group, while the ALDC takes top honors and Abby can’t help but bask in her own success.
Would you expect anything less coming from this character?!
Cathy and her lackeys come in and things get nuts. Jill films Cathy and her "paint by numbers" hair, and Cathy grabs Jill’s phone out of her hand.
In a matter of moments, Jill has to be dragged out of the room before she physically decks Cathy. Holly looks terrified and it’s hard to blame her.
Just wait until L.A. The dysfunction should only increase.
