Candy Apples shot-caller Cathy is determined to beat Abby Lee Miller. As always. Abby puts pressure on her charges to defeat her nemesis. As always.
While Maddie Ziegler and Sia are in NYC doing SNL, her mom Melissa is stuck in Pittsburgh with Mackenzie Ziegler, and clearly not happy about it.
Nor is Abby Lee, who tells the youngans that they should be grateful she chose to be with them and not Maddie on Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 13.
Seriously. This woman is a piece of work.
The group is off to Ohio, and another showdown with Candy Apples, whose ringers are bound to be more polished, jelled and unified this time around.
JoJo and Mackenzie are given solos, and Abby quickly pits them against each other. She also picks Spice Girls for the theme of the group number.
Meanwhile, the other Dance Moms challenge Melissa to tell Abby that Mackenzie deserves better than the treatment she receives from the show’s star.
If you watch Dance Moms online, you know how confrontations like that usually go, and that’s why you don’t see them happen as much as you’d hope.
When Abby makes a comment about the girls’ home-schooling, however, Melissa takes offense and puts her in her place. So that was good at least.
In Ohio, Cathy is still pulling her usual theatrics, which is funny since she’s basically the poor woman’s Abby Lee who routinely gets her ass whomped.
At least she has in the past. JoJo Siwa comes in first in the solo competition, besting Mackenzie Ziegler, but the real story is that Cathy finally triumphs.
Her girls grab the top spot in the group category. Wow, and we thought she was obnoxious in defeat. We’d never seen how she’d act if she actually won.
Bringing a cake with Abby’s face on it to the ALDC dressing room was just asking for it, and Miller responded in kind with a shot at CADC mom Eliza.
Abby remarks that she should get her daughter’s ears fixed, at which point Eliza comes at Abby like a caged rhino and Eliza’s daughter Chloe weeps.
