Andrew Getty, the grandson of J. Paul Getty and heir to a $5 billion fortune, was found dead in his Los Angeles home yesterday.

He was 47 years old.

According to The L.A. County Coroner, per TMZ, Getty was not feeling well over the past couple of months. He had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for Wednesday, though no further details on his condition are available at this time.

Insiders confirm that Getty’s ex-girlfriend called 911 around 2 p.m. to report cardiac arrest.

Getty’s body was then found in his bathroom, with a traumatic injury to the rectal area, along with significant bleeding.

Police have labeled the death "suspicious."

Getty and his unnamed ex have a long, ugly history with the LAPD. Authorities have been called to the former’s residence over 30 times, typically for domestic disturbance complaints.

Once there, they often discovered a number of prescription drugs.

At the times in the past, Getty had a restraining order against the woman and she had been placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold on at least one occasion after injuring cops after they responded to a call.

She is currently being detained as a witness/suspect in Getty’s death.

Andrew’s father, Gordon Getty, is one of the richest men in the country. Forbes recently placed Gordon’s wealth at $2.1 billion and the family was listed as the 54th richest in the United States at last check.
