Fans were treated to a Diggle-centric hour of television on Arrow Season 3 Episode 17.
Titled “Suicidal Tendencies,” the installment have Oliver’s sidekick plenty to do and the solid B-story meant viewers were entertained throughout the episode.
The main focus for Diggle, of course, was his marriage to Lyla, although the wedding itself was kept short (and sweet!).
It also did a fine job of depicting just how awkward these Starling City superheroes can be when asked to be less than super; when they try to just partake in a regular human activity.
Ray may not want to officiate any more ceremonies, however. Serving as emergency minister is not his best talent.
Meanwhile, the Suicide Squad was on a mission to kidnap a senator (played by Steven Culp), with John Diggle catching the sight of his brother’s name tattooed on the chest Floyd, a frenemy from his past we met via flashbacks.
Turns out, Floyd killed himself for the greatest good, allowing John and Lyla to return home and be an actual family.
Maybe a hero can have it all? No matter what Oliver believes?
In Starling City, Ra’s al Ghul was on a campaign to paint Arrow as a relapsed assassin. This caused him to be on the radar of the Mayor, Captain Lance and also Ray.
The latter (as Atom) later grabbed a scan of the real Arrow and realized his real identity.
As you’ll see when you watch Arrow online, Oliver proceeded to pay a visit to his former offices; it set the stage for an Atom versus Arrow/Arsenal that proved Ray firmly believes Oliver is a cold-blooded serial killer.
But Oliver tried to counter this belief by finding the weakness in Ray’s suit design… and yet not killing his nemesis.
The episode closed with Felicity making it clear she wants to be with Ray – and then with her in the crosshairs when Maseo launched an assault of arrows on the mayor’s meet-up with Ray, the Lances and others.
