It’s been six weeks since Teresa Giudice reported to prison to begin her 15-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud, and sources say the felonious Housewife is finally adjusting to her new surroundings.

But while Teresa might be growing accustomed to her new neighbors, sources say her financial situation is the worst it’s ever been, and her husband and four daughters are beginning to feel the strain.

“Joe is getting desperate,” one insider tells Radar Online. “He doesn’t have any money coming in, and he doesn’t know how he is going to get any money.”

Yes, as one of Bravo’s highest-paid Housewives, Teresa was definitely the top breadwinner in the Giudice household.

By contrast, Joe is an unemployed former pizzeria owner who also bears the stigma of being a convicted felon. (Joe will begin serving his own fraud sentence next year.)

The fact that Teresa has gone from pulling in six figures to making 15 cents an hour in the prison laundry room has put the Giudices in dire financial straits, and it’s not looking like things will be getting easier any time soon:

“Joe knows he has to start making money, and not on a small level, on a big level,” says the source. “He has a family to support and he he has basically hit a brick wall with ideas. Things are really bad for the family right now.”

Even the Giudices’ efforts to sell their home have reportedly fallen flat, leaving Joe desperate for employment.

Fortunately, Teresa has vowed to be rich again, so he’s got that to look forward to.
