Last night on Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 4, viewers witnessed some intense action, along with the returning wrath of shot-caller Abby Lee Miller.
It wasn’t her young charges who felt it this week, though … mostly.
After her elite junior team arrived at World-Class Talent Experience in Woodbridge, Va., only to discover that they would be competing in the teen division?
Let’s just say Abby was raging over the age division switch-up.
She informed the moms that the group dance would have to compete in the teen division due to the group age average, and the solo dancers would as well.
Kendall, despite being 11 years old, had to dance in the 12-14 age category due to her December birth date, pitting her against Maddie Ziegler, 12.
ALDC newcomer JoJo Siwa, 11, and her spring birthdate allowed her to remain in the 12 and under junior division, but by and large the moms were pissed.
In an effort to help lower the group’s overall age average, JoJo’s mom, Jessalynn, suggested to Abby that she remove 14-year-old Nia Frazier.
Replacing her with JoJo, conveniently, would do the trick.
“Me and Nia do most of the same stuff,” JoJo said.
Abby ultimately allowed Nia to stay in, possibly to her detriment as the team took home second place and second overall in the teen category.
Abby’s soloists also didn’t too fare well, either.
While Maddie did place first with her solo, she only took home the second overall spot in the teen division, while Kendall and JoJo failed to place.
Following JoJo’s second failure in as many weeks, Abby revealed she was no longer a guest member on the Abby Lee Dance Company team.
If you watch Dance Moms online, you can expect to see her again once the queen bee and her team travel to the west coast, though, so stay tuned.
"Bye Bye Pittsburgh," hello Hollywood!
